EXPENDABLE

Emperor drones are Imperial hydra drones, but they are not made from the dead like real emperors. They are artificial and modified in the egg, and as of now there is no reliable and stable method to assimilate an Imperial into an Emperor drone. Emperor drones are the largest type of hydra model created by the consciousness of HIVE.267, and like all hydra drones, every head is capable of multiple purposes. A hydra drone could be an assimilator, a builder, an archer, or all three. They make good praetorians and databanks with their durability and multiple heads. Given they are typically larger, they can carry more fluid. Some hydra drones can hold and produce both assimilation and building fluid. Their extra heads can be useful for surveillance as well. The possibilities are endless, and they have lots of potential.

Every hydra drone sent out to other hives typically appears very basic and undergoes metamorphosis shortly after arriving. This is to allow the new consciousness to modify the new drone's traits to their preferences. It's similar to a blank slate upon arrival. If a consciousness obtains a hydra and wants it to function as a praetorian, they are free to modify the hydra to develop a tougher carapace and other weapons should they choose. If they want the hydra to be a databank, they can do that as well, and so on. They can mix traits that they think would be beneficial so the drone can serve multiple purposes. It is all up to the consciousness and their wishes.
