>The thing about corruption is that it can come from anywhere. One may think one knows the depths of someone's soul, yet one can never say what hides within. Sometimes corruption hides in the shadows, waiting like a predator to strike down the unsuspecting. Sometimes it is a chill deep within one's heart, like the first whisper of winter. Sometimes it creeps along the ground like a plague, its victims unaware until they have fallen under its spell. But the strongest corruption shines brightly like the midsummer sun, the warm rays turning harsh and blazing a deathly trail through all in its path. As purity and goodness reside in the light, so do the most vile recesses of a dragon's heart; for why would one look where the sun shines brightest? >This is what happen to Seneb. He was once a brave general in the armies of Light, fighting for the glory of the Sun God. Yet Seneb fell under the siren call of power, and the corruption of his heart grew and grew like an unchecked tumor. He became less a shining example of Light, and more a blind, raging beast, his desires taking over his mind and clouding it with delusions of grandeur. Seneb believed that he could rule the world by his own hand, and that the world owed him its allegiance. He had his doubts about his own sanity, for the voices in his head grew and festered like a plague. But he had also long stopped caring. He was beyond caring. >Soon he tried to rebel against his superiors, but he was stuck down by the hand of the king, his broken body dumped into the underground, as a warning to all who would defy the will of the Lightweaver. >But he didn't stay there for long. |
