Her statue was found by Yosei within a ruined temple, with warding tags wrapped around her wings, and a ribbon bearing a gleaming golden bell hung around her neck. Yosei's party absconded with the strange statue in tow, tags and bell undisturbed. The relic was greatly admired by Yosei's old clan for a time, as its prized possession, though no one knew what its purpose was, or where it came from.
The truth behind the statue wasn't revealed until years later, when handfuls of dragons from dozens of Light clans staged a mass uprising; either fleeing the territory, or usurping their leaders. Yosei was preparing to flee alongside a pair of fellow members of her clan, who urged her to carry the strange statue away from their territory - as she, an Imperial, was the only dragon who could even lift it. As she beat her heavy wings to ascend, grabbing the statue in her clawed hands, its weight felt strange in a way she didn't recall, as if it weren't a solid statue, instead encasing something. But now was not the time to ponder such things. She didn't get far, though, before her former clan's archmages spotted her party. Her two compatriots were taken down far too quickly. The archmages, most significantly smaller than Yosei, began to swarm her, grabbing her legs, tail, trying to stun her and drag her down. In the scuffle, the Imperial dropped the statue, watching in helpless horror as it fell nearly 200 feet to the ground below. 
The statue shattered, and Yosei was right; as she and the archmages raced to the ground, each desperate to pick up the pieces first, the stone was shattered, yes, and beneath it lay a mass of mottled grey and deep teal. The adversaries reached the ground, and all paused as the mass stood up - a large, muscular body adorned in gold and warding tags. She opened her six golden eyes, took in the dragons surrounding her, the chaos and bloodshed all around them, and screamed.
The sound was ear-shattering. And from her maw, a great, blinding beam of light erupted. Yosei shielded her eyes and, when she opened them again, the entire field before them had been decimated.
