Yosei is a gentle, kind-hearted dragon-kitsune who has lived for nearly a thousand years. An archmage specializing in curses who ended up in servitude of a corrupt Light clan as their sin-eater, she absorbed so many sins that she became cursed herself, though she had never done anything wrong - only took on the wrongdoings of others to absolve them of guilt - a kind deed that was often abused at the hands of her clanmates.

The fledgling Vespertine Colony took in the suffering kitsune on their last days in the Light territory, insisting she never had to do that work for such foul dragons ever again. Yosei followed them into the Tangled Wood, with a slight reluctance.

Now a part of Clan Umbra, Yosei works within the fold of the priesthood - unable to let her work as a sin-eater go. She insists she loves the "goodness" of the work she's doing and perhaps, someday, that will remove her curse.
