The Underboss
"I promised to lead and lead I shall."
Attolix was the firstborn of a nest of three by the clan's progens. Her younger brothers, a Magenta guardian and a Blood Fae, were sold into slavery without their parents knowledge. Only she and Eugenides knew how the boys ended up there. She sold them there herself for a pocket full of treasure, both unnamed and unremembered.
In her hatchling days, Eugenides, the clan's adviser, became her closest companion and teacher, from survival to wisdom to traveling. The Skydancer felt more of a parent to her than kim and Zybil combined, since the progens were too busy making acquaintances and expanding their lair.
Weeks passed and Attolix began to bloom. She grew up with her mother's features and structure as well as her courage and spirit, and adopted her father's colors along with his rationality and practicality. The Fae had matured both physically and mentally. She began to notice how handsome and clever the attractive Eugenides had been and wanted him all to herself. In realizing her feelings for him, she traveled far and to the Tempest Spire, attempting to create as much distance from the Skydancer as possible, and to finally meet their deity. The Fae meditated through out her trip, her mind was set, and offered her entirety to the Boss. And so, with that deed, she gave up all of her romantic feelings and forgot what it was like to love, for it would disgust Eugenides, she thought, if his sisterly companion would want to have him embrace her like a lover.
Gradually, Attolix changed, from her colors to her leadership. The honest laboratory and clan that her parent's once ruled, ceased to exist and turned Underground. She declared change as abrupt as lightning striking the dessert's dry ground. They became an Underground Laboratory, performing illegal and unorthodox experiments that were forbidden and taboo even to the Beastclans, but they remained secret and protected. Her Consigliere made sure of that. He recruited the best of warriors and they swore their fealty to her. Nobody outside knows of their crimes. That is, nobody alive, of course.
You'd think the clan would be revolted by her but, to tell you the truth, they loved and respected her all the more. Lightning Citizens were known to be more...open. Despite the fact that they were at the wrong end of society, the clan was better in every other aspect. Attolix made sure that everyone was well-fed, paid fairly, and living comfortably. They all had dragon rights. She was just and fair in her judgement, and kind and empathetic to her people. She would accept any dragon looking for a place to stay as long as they were prepared to work if they plan on staying for more than a week. However, laziness and disrespect won't be tolerated. What was the point of having a body if you didn't plan to work with it? We might as well cut off your arms and legs then sell your internal organs for a hefty price. A better bargain for the clan but not for you, don't you think?
I accidentally used a Scatter Scroll on her and now she looks like a flower but I loved her previous colors. (maroon/maize/carmine) Now I just got her expensive apparel to compensate but I'm just really depressed. Ugh.
