"Stay away, stay away," the whispers echo. "Stay away."

Venue-Vert2.png Salem lives on the outskirts of the Sotoha's territory. Recognized for what she is, shunned for her failure, she has no friends or contacts who dare venture too close. The Sotoha send her packages of food and water, refusing to let her anywhere near their own resources. Someday, when she has finally died, they'll bring the Mahal to scorch away the disease.

She waits for death, scribbling down her fever dreams on a parchment of paper that nobody is likely to ever read. Her appetite wanes and her body withers, but she does not stop her frantic writing. What is it that she sees? Is it prophecy? Is it history? Neither. It is madness, whispered in her mind by the disease ravaging her body. "Stay away," she gasps, her quill falters. "The plague comes. Stay away," and silence falls.
