Biography
Quote:
A Skydancer clad in an impressive set of armor paces the tavern. For a moment, it seems like he is socializing with every dragon there as he stops to talk with each, but judging by the looks o n the dragons' faces, it becomes clear he's pestering them with some kind of questioning.
CHOU
MERCENARY DEMIBOY HE/HIM, BISEXUAL The first face of a clan's warriors is the ones who travel outside the lair. This role is played by Chou and only Chou--as a relatively peace-loving clan, the Clan of the Wounded needs very view warriors to represent them. Chou has long studied the ancient ways of sparring and values honorable, straightforward and no-holds-barred battling with his foes. He has learned the way of the blade, something less than preferred to most dragon battling styles, and regards his sparring methods with great pride. Because of his flashy appearance, many dragons flock to him as a very stereotypical-looking warrior, which lets Chou gather a good deal of treasure from jobs. |
Chou had great dreams of glory on the battlefield even as a small hatchling. He was fascinated by the ways of dragon knights, those who fought for honor or even sport and utilized weapons and armor over their raw abilities of breath, claws and teeth. Though he searched desperately for a mentor to teach him the ways of the sword over the claw and help recruit him into an order of the knights he admired so, the only thing Chou was able to get his claws on was a sword. It came as a pity gift from an order of Lightning knights he attempted to join, largely Ridgebacks and Guardians, who thought Chou's delicate Skydancer physique would be a death sentence to him on the battlefield, but met Chou's persistence to join with a sword and a suggestion he should discipline himself elsewhere, hoping he would give up and find himself a more suiting profession. Giving up was the last thing Chou had in mind. In fact, he took the pity gift as a sign the dragons saw something in him, so he vowed to move into isolation to discipline himself as a warrior. This led him to the Clan of the Wounded in the Scarred Wasteland, an isolated enough location to train himself, and populated by less fortunate dragons he could lend an honorable helping hand to. The "citizens" of the Scarred Wasteland don't quite understand his knightly moral code, but Chou is satisfied knowing he can fight for dragons afar, then return the spoils to the struggling Plague clan.
Chou is a very serious warrior, and simply serious in personality, too. He has read many a tome on the conduct and code of dragon knights and follows the scripts to the letter, as his reading acted as his only mentor. He speaks in a very proper manner and addresses every dragon he meets as a "citizen". The only thing Chou speaks to other dragons for is to inquire if they need any help, and he otherwise ignores social pursuits when it does not directly involve his career. As a Skydancer, however, his emotion sensing still works, but reading the room's aura is largely confusing to Chou and he often overreacts at any notion of distress among his fellow dragons.
