 Minerva's parents were First Generation Obelisks, Garland of the Plague flight and Melanie of the Ice flight. She was born in a venerable lair hidden in the Foxfire Bramble. Her parents are both gemologists, her mother a jeweler and her father a lapidary.

Minerva jokes that she likes rocks as much as the next Obelisk, but her real passion is working with crystals as a source of energy, figuring out how to make them power mechanical gadgets. She's determined to harness the potential of pink chalcedony in particular, though her prolonged exposure to the radioactive silica has been known to give her debilitating headaches.

Minerva has had five hatchlings, two with Viggo, named Spectral and Laraloz, and three with Mars (another victim to his lies). Viggo took her back, and vowed that if he and Mars ever crossed paths, he would kill him. Two of those hatchlings were exalted, while the third moved to the Shadow domain. He has recently returned however to be reunited with his mother.
