Biography

Brizo
Priestess
Neutral Good

PkKAmaj.png
After a life working on the shores of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, Brizo left home to seek her fortune and a better life, hopefully somewhere that smelled less like fish. After months of travel, she realized that she missed the water, and thus chose to settle on an island in Arcane territory.

As a priestess and healer, her job is not to ensure the safety of the clan, but to patch them up when they invariably hurt themselves. Despite this, she still finds plenty of time to spend at the shrine she constructed shortly after her arrival. There, spiritual enlightenment has reached all but her mouth; she still curses like a sailor.

She maintains the clan's shrine, which has an altar for each of the Eleven. Due to the many differences between clan members, there is no deity which a majority of dragons revere above the others. Thus, she had Silas devise a rotating dais which takes up the majority of the room. The altars are arranged in a circle, which is then adjusted so that the visiting dragon sees their deity at the forefront. Nobody knows what Brizo's preferred orientation of the dais is.

Even with the rotating dais, keeping the shrine still requires some manual movement of the statuary and plinths, mostly for repairs and cleaning. Brizo does this without assistance, moving the heavy stone through sheer strength. She was a dockworker back in her old clan, after all, so moving heavy things is well within her abilities. A stone statue of one of the deities is nothing. She'll drag an injured imperial all the way back to the fortress for treatment if she has to. It'll take a while, but she'll do it.

As she's easily annoyed, especially after having to carry an injured dragon back to the shrine, Brizo's attitude often wards clan members away from petitioning her for help. This just serves to irritate her more, as despite appearances, she does actually care about the well-being of the other dragons. She'd just prefer it if they actually took care of themselves, instead of throwing caution to the wind and letting the gods decide whether they live or die. And as a priestess, she reckons that she knows the Eleven well enough to say that they have more important things to do than protect a dragon too clueless to realize that teaching buttersnakes to wield weapons is a bad idea. (Looking at you, Kaoru.)

While she does know the ways of magical healing, Brizo prefers the mundane methods of bandages and medicine. Both methods have their place, but specializing in mundane healing means it's Bozatrox who has to deal with the stranger problems the clan members develop. She would much rather treat cuts and cold exposure than try to figure out what to do with someone who sublimated part of their leg. More problems should be able to be solved with a bit of medicine and a good night's rest in the infirmary's blanket mound.

...Not that many dragons would go to her with those kind of problems even if she could help. In Clan _______, those issues are often self-inflicted, and not many want to suffer one of Brizo's lectures on not being a complete idiot if they don't have to.

One of her closest friends is Glaucus, who she decided to get to know better after saving him from drowning for the fifth time. While it's no longer possible for him to drown, he still ends up needing medical attention unreasonably often. So while Brizo does snap at him sometimes, it's probably just because she doesn't like seeing him get hurt.

She's also made friends with Kepriel, because, well, the fae's normal. Kepriel's merely a dancer, she's not like the rest of the clan who go out of their way to explode themselves in new and creative fashions. It's nice to be able to relax and spend some time with a friend who won't cause a major clan-wide crisis. Of course, one will happen regardless, and Brizo and Kepriel will inevitably be abandoning their lunch to care for the wounded.

(Totally only purchased her because I felt bad for splitting her and Glaucus up; they seemed to have been made into a pair by the previous owner.)

A Fear of Understanding the Gods, only surpassed by how Close she already is.
