One of the first Obelisks to be unearthed during the Dustcarve Dig, Gaelian has a strong curiosity for the world around him. In particular, he has a strong fascination with the history and of Sornieth, especially regarding the animals of the past. He's mainly a paleontologist, studying fossils and other remnants of animals lost to time, but also occasionally dabbles in archaeology, learning about how dragons of the past lived.

This intense enthrallment was spurred on after arriving to Sōlis, trying to find his place in the world. Having wandered since his unearthing, Gaelian was drawn to the peaceful harmony of the unassuming clan. It seemed there was much conflict in the world, but very little here. Many of the members of this clan had previously been vagrants or outcasts from all walks of life, also trying to find their place... and this seemed to be it.

As Dragonhome is one of the oldest lands of Sornieth, there was much history to be gleaned from such a place. Not only in books or other documents, but in the mountains themselves- fossilized remains of ancient beasts, bones and footprints, preserved feathers and scales imprinted on stone... There were traces of life hidden everywhere. The mere thought of traversing a cave and finding such a treasure excited Gaelian, inspiring him to set up a prehistory workshop for any clanmates- or even travelers- to learn about these creatures of old.

Gaelian welcomes anyone to come by, and will happily ramble for hours on his latest discovery. He loves to read, even if it's unrelated to his field of study, simply because he has a strong love for learning about the world and the culture of various dragons in Sornieth. He'll listen to anyone who tells him about their own interests and hobbies with a genuine fascination. Many find him to be quite sweet, willing to learn and also slightly gullible. Some find him too intense, as he doesn't quite understand social cues, and will often overstay his welcome.

Although he's very optimistic and kind, infatuated with the world around him, Gaelian is rather insecure. He feels as if he has much catching up to do, and isn't where he needs to be progress-wise. Even if learning is enjoyable for him, it's easy for him to feel overwhelmed by just how much there is, feeling as if he's missing out. This leads to him coming off as very pushy, desperate to learn all he can from his clanmates. At times, he'll be holed up in his home, reverting to a stone state out of depression. A visit from a neighbor can end this hermetic period quite quickly though, so friends of his will come by to check in if they hadn't seen him for a time.
