This is the guy I got out of my statue during the giant lagspike when the Obelisk breed was first introduced. I never even scattered him; I'm so happy he turned out gorgeous right out of the stone! :D

He's also the 2nd dragon ever with his colors!

Hmm he looks a bit better with Faded eyes, (though, canonically, his eyes are a purple which matches the purple in his mane.)

Among the first of the Obelisk to break free from their stone encasement at the end of the Dustcarve Dig, though his emergence was a bit odd. Like the other first Obelisks, he was given some information about the world he would be coming into. However, he felt -- through his stone skin -- something bump against him, and he heard a sound. The Earthshaker's vibrations were completely drowned out. A single, clear note rang out in his ears. His mind turned off. The next thing he knew, he was crouched with something pinned between his paws as he gnawed mindlessly on it. He heard a voice...but not through the vibrations in the stone. Rather, with his ears. Surprised, he realized that he'd already broke out of his casing! But was he too early? Was he late? Whatever the case was, he was awash with embarrassment at his current behavior, and rose to a seated position, but ducked his head and folded his ears back. Then, for the first time he could recall, anyway, he spoke to the nearby dragon, telling him that he was an Obelisk, and that his name -- which he somehow was aware of -- was Sandstone.

To his surprise, he also noticed that there was a small, young Obelisk with this other dragon -- who identified himself as Gaelin. Evidently, the young one had hatched out of an egg prior to the Obelisks' awakening. This was impossible, and Sandstone expressed as much. It was only then that Gaelin seemed to take an interest in her. She'd been following him on her own, as it turned out, and she didn't seem to care about or understand anything that was being said about their kind. Sandstone himself wound up following Gaelin as well, mostly out of intrigue for the child, but also because he didn't really understand much about Sornieth yet and following someone who lived in it seemed like a good idea. He still follows Gaelin around, and has become a sort of research assistant as well as an object of study (in particular, how the orb may have affected him when he emerged from his stone form.)

Naturally, Sandstone is very quiet and reserved (this may have come from his connection to the Earthshaker being severed before he emerged from his stone form.) He's much more likely to observe than join in on anything, but pussyfoots around a lot. However, he also has a somewhat embarrassing fascination with round things (whether this is because of how he awoke from stone or if he awoke from stone because of it is impossible to tell, though Gaelin is trying to research the orb as well.) If he sees a ball or something rolling by, he's likely to pounce right on it only to realize what he's doing later. At that point, he'll slowly straighten up and, eyes on the ground, subtly continue to paw at the round thing or carry the round thing with him as he slinks away in embarrassment. As it turns out, he's an unconscious kleptomaniac when it comes to spherical objects.

In addition, due to a particular problem, Gaelin is making Sandstone learn sign language. Also, of course, braille. That way, he can argue with the she-devil properly through his poor, uneasy assistant. (Sandstone is not comfortable with the arrangement, but ironically, he's too timid to argue about it, so he's just doing his best to do what his boss is asking of him.)

On a trip through the Shifting Expanse, he also discovered that he really likes the feeling of sand shifting under his paws. Travelling at night through the desert was especially enjoyable...as long as he took breaks to get the static electricity out of his fur. It was quite literally a hair-raising experience, and both uncomfortable and embarrassing...
