━ Crimes: ━ She ripped my hat. It wasn’t my favorite hat, but it was still mine, and now it’s ripped. ━ Questions: ━ What will her place be in the clan as she grows older? Do all Plagueflighter’s have to raise hatchlings at such a young age, or is Almacia an exception? ━━━━━━━━━━━━ (Layout by Mask) |
━ NOTES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As Chiron and I set off through the Scarred Wasteland, Almacia introduced us to her daughter Turi, a hatchling with a distasteful amount of energy. When I mentioned that Almacia looked a bit young to be a mother, she puffed her chest out with pride. “I am,” she said. “I snatched the egg myself, from a north clan.” Anywhere else on the continent, Almacia would have been hunted down and tried for egg theft, but not here. Almacia claimed that her clan leader was so impressed by her bravery that she was allowed to hatch the egg. If she raises the child well, she said, she’ll become become a full warrior. Apparently, the Plagueflighters expect their youth to raise a hatchling as a right of passage before they’re fully accepted into the clan. I don’t know what I expected. Everything is backwards in the plaguelands. With that said, I don’t think that Almacia should be quite so proud of herself. Before we set off, I noticed that her clan looked lean on numbers. The scarred dragons were tense and kept their eyes on the horizon, watching and waiting. There were very few hatchlings and adolescents. It wouldn’t surprise me if Almacia’s warrior education was accelerated out of sheer practicality. If that’s the case, Turi doesnt seem to care. She likes to bound ahead and hide behind rocks and shrubs, trying to ambush us when we get close. She seems to adore her mother, and they wrestle and chase each other around after we set up camp. Neither of them seemed to have developed the haggard fatigue of their clanmates. I wonder how long it will last. |
