Biography
HERMIT
Disconcerting, elusive, impassive
Plague dragons are famous for their tenacity, their ferocity, and their strong will to survive. Amore stands defiantly (or apathetically?) in opposition to that standard by embracing defeatism. Just how little does he care? When he stated his name during the process of joining the Empyreal's ranks, the scribe misspelled his name as "Amore" in their records and he never spoke up to correct it.
Amore hides in his den all day and only makes brief, furtive supply runs during the middle of the night. Confined to this limited lifestyle, he contributes to the clan in his own way. If a simple task such as sorting or cleaning can be done in the safety of his room, he will spend his day completing it. The other Fae bring work to his door, and when he is finished he will push it outside without fanfare. It's unclear what he does with his time when he doesn't have a project.
Though he is almost never seen or heard, Amore's earned a reputation. The Fae living among him recount stories of his hollow eyes, intensely negative presence, and expressionless frills locked in a position that indicates a blank and unnerving stare. Some of the Empyreal wonder if he's dangerous, but he has never raised a claw against another dragon. Simply being creepy is not grounds for expulsion.
There's been many discussions about what to do with Amore. Is the clan just enabling his dysfunction at this point? Is it even possible for him to get better? Some of the kindest-hearted dragons have reached out to him, only to be (literally) shut out each time.
She'd never say it aloud, but the recruiter Azalea often wonders if it was a mistake to invite him to join. When they first met, she saw that he was troubled, but she felt confident that with some time and patience, he could thrive in the diverse and accepting Empyreal clan. But after four years of no improvement, she arrived at the conclusion that Amore needs to consent to treatment first before he can be helped, and that is beyond the Empyreal's control. All the goodwill and resources in the world won't help him if he continues rejecting them. Perhaps the best they can offer him is continuing life support. Azalea has great patience, though, and she is always searching for an opportunity to help him. Only time can tell if there's any hope for Amore.
