  about.

-Stolas was never really the type of dragon to take the Necromantic Trials. His cousin Callahan did and passed with distinction, sure, and he had multiple highly accomplished Necromancers and Necroservi in his family tree, but he had no real interest in them, preferring to read medical textbooks or study Wasteland flora and fauna. Unfortunately, he was no match for tradition's dictates, and he was brought to the Wyrmwound to undergo the Trials.

-To his credit, Stolas passed the Trial of Infection, but he was unable to contain the plague he had been burdened with. He tried his best to focus his willpower and beat back the infection, but he was simply too fragile in the face of the plague. It was perhaps by luck or perhaps by fate that Callahan had been observing the trials and had intervened to stop the plague's spread, pulling it from his battered body. Although it earned her even more ire from her fellow Necromancers -- yet another tradition she had stepped all over, didn't she know that she couldn't simply spit in the face of the Plaguebringer's disapproval like that? -- it earned her his willing assistance in her Hunter business.

-Stolas has no plague to infect with or to cure, but he does have an intuitive feel for the spread of disease and the pain others are feeling. It's not clairvoyance, or that he can see the plague itself, but the marks the trials left on him left channels of intuition, so to speak. He's essentially a walking diagnosis machine; Callahan and Denver have never seen him have an incorrect guess about the illness someone's suffering from. His intuition also comes in handy when identifying ghoul victims in Callahan's main line of work.

-Stolas is also an excellent shot with a bow and arrow; he can aim and fire with a pace and power that seems a bit at odds with his slender frame. Soft-spoken and friendly, if a little jumpy and anxious, he handles most of the diplomacy for Callahan's entourage. Besides his odd intuition for plague, he also has a powerful memory for medicine, and earns a side income as a traveling doctor when not working with Callahan. Since arriving in Askarel Port, he's been assisting at the local hospital frequently, both to help out wherever he can and to keep an eye out for any new victims of the odd plague the ghoul they're after has been spreading.

-Mid-30s

-He's becoming increasingly disturbed by the symptoms the victims have been showing; this has to be a bioweapon of some kind. No Plaguebringer-crafted disease would kill this rapidly without giving itself a fighting chance to spread, and it would especially not be stoppable with some rudimentary protective equipment. What kind of disease causes its victims' organs to rot from the inside out while they're still alive, without giving them even the barest chance to infect other before it kills them? It's clumsy, amateur handiwork by someone who wanted to kill as many dragons as possible but was more preoccupied with flashiness than efficiency. And the weird symbols Denver has been finding indicate someone else is after the ghoul, too -- is it its creators, or someone else who wants to use it for themself? He knows there are dragons out there who have vastly different interpretations of Mother's will, who want to use her gift of plague to scour the land clear of everything but themselves instead of pushing the pace of evolution and the thriving of life. Would any of them be willing to hunt down a ghoul this dangerous in order to foster their plans?

Callahan and Stolas are actually cousins (in a sense)! Both are related to Ebreitas (Callahan's great-grandma, Stolas's grandma)
