Residing in the Viridis Weald and being a nature elemental dragon, Calcifer naturally took up a disposition to gardening and a love for nature. With their nature powers, which they strengthened over years of work in the forest, they took up a passion for chemistry and brewing potions involving the natural items they discovered in the Weald. As typical of dragons in the Viridis Weald, Calcifer was quite gentle and compassionate, she enjoyed making people happy and sought to find the best in people. He quite enjoyed interacting with others in the Weald, and was widely known and adored for both his friendly nature and skill in his powers and plant care. They often would sell their herbs and potions to those in the Weald as a way of earning income, but in their free time they enjoyed writing stories under candlelight at home.

Calcifer lived in a little cottage within the Viridis Weald on their own for most of their life and would venture through the trees for supplies. As she was exploring, she found a hidden pocket of the forest where the mythical creatures resided with an earth Snapper named Amoris. Calcifer attempted to leave at the distress of the creatures, but Amoris, who hadn't met many dragons before, came out and met him. The two of them talked it out before Amoris decided to leave the creatures to live with Calcifer, yearning for a life with dragons like her. The two of them lived peacefully together until the Weald was invaded by a horrifying creature from The Edge, where they met Alexander and the Wardens, who diffused the situation. She and Amoris ended up befriending all of them, and after gaining some recognition for her powers and skill with plants, she became part of the Wardens.
