Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this pastel beauty wandered a little too far from her home lair (570686, LabyrinthianLost), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Unlike her brother Moran, Marron never felt she truly belonged within Cragenmire Cavern. While her brother quickly grew popular among their generation, Marron found herself spending more time in the nest reading or sketching. She never held Moran's popularity against him, but felt isolated by it nonetheless. When Moran got a mate at an early age, Marron decided enough was enough. If she didn't fit into this community, she'd find someplace where she truly belonged.

Marron wasn't the type to just jump headfirst into danger, though. She spent months reading up on the various regions and the ancient dragons that ruled over them. She began plotting a route based on the known locations of different beastclan groups and prey availability. Before long, Marron found herself already well-versed in the world beyond the tunnels she called home. She didn't tell anyone she was leaving. She didn't want to upset her parents or make her brother feel bad. Marron just slipped away one night, starting her journey under a starry night sky.

---

Marron was on the surface of Dragonhome, running down a charcoal hopping mouse, when another dragon collided into her out of nowhere. They fell in a heap together. Marron pulled herself out of the tangle of the elongated body to find an irate Spiral. Before she could argue, the Spiral lurched forward and snatched up the escaping mouse, dropping it into a burlap sack.

"Excuse me, but I was hunting that," Marron said with a bit of a whine.

The teenage Spiral sneered. "But it's in my sack now, so I guess it's mine." Tiny squeaks and chirps were coming from the squirming sack.

Marron's stomach growled audibly. The Spiral smirked. "Tell you what," she said. "If you help me catch more mice until sunset, I'll share half of my sack with you. Deal?"

Sounded good to the young Wildclaw. She chased more hopping mice wherever she could find them and brought them back to Tirrivee, the Spiral. She even managed to find a nest loaded with mice, and caught half of them. She snuck a few undersized, baby mice here and there, though — she was too hungry to wait for sunset.

At the end of the day, though, a Gaoler arrived with a wire-mesh live trap, and Tirrivee dumped the entire sack of rodents into it. "I busted my tail hunting today, Siobhan! Look!"

Marron stamped her foot. "Hey! I was the one who busted my tail for you. You said you would share!"

Siobhan glared down at Tirrivee, grumbling, "Did you seriously pawn your work off on someone else?" Tirrivee scowled at Marron for tattling.

Siobhan invited Marron back to their lair, in a defunct train station on the edge of Terraclae. Marron took notes on some parchment she carried as Siobhan told her the history (according to books Siobhan had read). She then showed Marron into the kitchen. The head chef — who was a mother herself — sat her down and made her a hearty lunch. Udon soup made from sea bass flesh and fried mouse nuggets in a pork broth.

Marron ate gratefully. "This is exquisite!" she exclaimed as she slurped. The chef beamed widely.

Once she'd had her fill, Siobhan offered her to pay for Marron to stay in the nearby clan-run Motel to rest. Marron politely declined. "I appreciate the meal and the offer, but I have a schedule I must stick to!"

"Good luck!" called Siobhan after her as she went on her way.

It was strange, being back in Cragenmire Cavern. A lot had changed; namely, the construction of a rough cityscape and demolition of the many narrow, winding passages that Marron knew from her hatchling days. Moran was happy to see her, asking excitedly about where she'd gone as she stayed with him and his mate. But, she was less than enthusiastic.

To be frank, she didn't like what they'd done with the place. She missed their parents' old den, carved into a cave wall and lined with linens and feathers from the prey their father, Streak, would consume on the regular. She missed the intrigue of the darkness beckoning her, pushing her to venture further and further. No, Cragenmire City wasn't her home. Though it would always have a place in her heart, she couldn't bear to stay. Leaving was all too easy.

---

The Lumnicomb was a strange place to be indeed. There was quite a mix of personalities, and there was never one theme for long. Chaos, one might call it, but the clan leaders tell her otherwise.

Everything seemed quite calm here. She became friends with Bloodswamp, who told stories of the other wandering dragons he'd encountered. Marron quite mildly bad for him, it seemed as if all his friends either left or died. Except for the crew, of course, but he'd had more friends to leave than any other dragon she'd met. It was time for her to move on. She invited Blood with her, but he refused, explaining that the friends he did have needed him. She left with a goodbye, but also with a silent oath she shared with him that she'd visit him once again before either one's life kissed the air goodbye.
