OCHO-CERO

THE EXPERIMENTAL STRAIN
Us1m0jJ.png..................
narrow1.png
tall1.png ABOUT
Once a deeply neurotic Nocturne, he turned to alchemy and transmutation in order to try and change himself. While continuing his research, he found a vial of an unknown strain and transmuted it along with a handful of other ingredients, all turning into an unknown scroll. After simply touching the scroll, the Nocturne could feel a change shiver through his tough scales before blacking out and waking up as the Aberration he is today.

The two-eyed head, still going by Ocho is essentially the right brain of the former Nocturne. A kind, comedic soul with a tendency for neuroticism, he tends to be more dominated by his emotions. His three-eyed counterpart, preferring to go by Cero, is mainly the left brain of the body. Mostly logic-driven, he’s intelligent, cunning, and often a bit cold.

While the two of them are mostly two separate minds, they still share the same memories of the dragon they were before, and can still affect the thoughts and emotions of each other. For Ocho, he can remember parts of a new transmutation recipe even when hidden in his pocket of bramble, away from the cauldron. And for Cero, he can get more emotional whenever Ocho gets emotional, becoming a bit more happy when Ocho gets excited, and nervous when his counterpart gets into a seriously neurotic mood.

BACKSTORY
From the day he was hatched, Ocho was a bright mind. A bright and neurotic mind, to be a bit more specific. He took to learning alchemy from old books he found hidden in an old nook at a young age and became one of the best alchemists in the Strikeden, getting many eyes on him to see what he was going to create next. Unfortunately for poor Ocho, he was not the best at handling many eyes on him. Whenever he attracted too much attention, he would become nervous and cause a disaster.

He tried many ways to become less nervous. He would put on clothing that made him look like a brave adventurer, he would pep talk himself, he would buy vials of berry juice and water sold as confidence potions, but nothing seemed to work. And so, he turned to the thing he felt his neuroticism hurt the most: alchemy. If alchemy could create clothing and familiars, then surely it could give him some way to become less worried. He looked through his shelf of various ingredients he had collected and hoarded to transmute and began to improvise. Clothing, claw tips, and a boon of familiars were made, but nothing that could help the Nocturne with his problem.

That was, until, he found a small vial of a green liquid, marred with strains of red and unlabeled. Both curious and desperate, he put the vial and a handful of other slimes and goops into the cauldron and fell asleep. In the middle of the night, he woke up to a sizzle. Surprised, he looked into the cauldron to find a scroll with a pattern he was too tired to make out. He reached out and grabbed it to get a better look, but before he could finally see its pattern, he felt a sickly shaking feeling underneath his scales. Then, the headache came, feeling like his head was about to split open. He swore he could’ve felt four pairs of horns grown out of him before blacking out.
