The Castaway Shore's resident Archeologist, and got more than she bargained for when she took part in the Dustcarve Dig.

A more recent addition to the clan, Terra was welcomed in with open wings. She's a little more odd than your typical skydancer, due to specific features, namely her large, curved hind claws, her longer-than-average horns, and the row of feathers that stick out of her mane, that give away her mixed heritage.

Terra had not long joined the seaside clan when word came from Dragonhome about an archeological dig requiring volunteers and supplies. After a quick discussion, the clan was more than willing to help send as many supplies as they could, and after a vote decided to send Terra as their representative.
Her earth heritage and affinity for archeology made her an obvious choice.

When she arrived, though she wanted to help with the dig right away, she was instead selected to help in one of the groups that were tasked with collecting the various materials brought to them by clans all throughout Sornieth.
It at least gave her a chance to update her clanmates whenever they arrived with more supplies, as well as meeting a variety of dragons; from a fae carrying several heavy wooden beams, to even a few pirates happily offering up extra rope & lantern oil.

Eventually Terra gets moved to the excavation team so that others can have a break, and helps out during the third tunnel, though she returns to the supply chain by the time they all start working on the fourth tunnel, carefully digging out the strange architecture hidden by the collapsed tunnel.

Soon the strange city is uncovered, and everyone settles down to rest and eat before they continue. As a thank you, with every tunnel section completed, the volunteers received a cache filled with extra bits and pieces they could take back to their clans. Terra had set hers aside in one of the areas they had all set as their temporary hoards, where they could store them until they returned home.
She had originally intended to leave them until she returned to the Shores, but curiosity got the better of her and she opened them, just to have a peak.

The first two she only glanced at, containing a nice chunk of food and two sets of battle gear respectively. The third apparently contained apparel for the dig, and while others had been very confused to find silks, bows and other various clothing sets that did not fit at all, Terra was pleased to find a set of ice blue armor bundled up in hers, and she moved to set the cache with the others.

She was, however, very surprised to find an egg nestled in the fourth cache, hidden underneath the small stack of excess supplies, and according to the confused reactions from her fellow teammates, she wasn't the only one to find one. After wondering if a few eggs got mixed up in the supplies being brought down, or if something, or someone else had left them there, she decides to hold onto it. Though she didn't know why, she also had a feeling it was related to the dig. She also was already feeling the urge to protect it.

She's not sure if ice eggs usually felt like stone & have a greenish glow to them, though.

The egg is very close to hatching as Terra runs around in the frantic chaos as everyone rushes to help, bringing in as many mats as they can through the supply chain to try and help after the stone floor collapsed, revealing the surging river below. Every so often the egg moves a little from the makeshift egg sling she had made from the various green fabrics she wore. When she has a second in between dragging in as many supplies as she can, she silently scolds the egg, trying to tell it that this is not the time nor pace to hatch. However the egg does not care, and continues.

After saving the main excavation team from dangling over the river, everyone gets to work on getting what Velya needs to restock the supplies they lost, and working on the next tunnel through the river once they secure the way down.
As they get closer and closer to securing the tunnel and figuring out what's going on with the river, the eggs rocking movements become more frequent.

Honestly, in hindsight it makes sense it hatched when it did, the icy shell almost shattering in the protective sling as the last wall of rock weakens and collapses, revealing the cavern filled with dragon 'statues'.

And now, sitting comfortably within Terra's makeshift sling, covered in the leftover shards and remains of their icy egg, is a small, yellow and purple hatchling, eyes like a snowstorm, unlike any species she had ever seen before.
Though this would quickly change, as the statues in front of them began to crack, revealing the fur and scales hidden underneath the carefully carved stone.

The first dragon to shed their statue form, Mirth, filled in the main team, which soon made its way through the crowd. These statues, no, dragons, were the Earthshakers newest children; Obelisks.

And as Terra soon realized, that the egg-now-dragonet she was holding, was one of them.

After the shock of the discovery and new dragons, the Obelisks began choosing different clan representatives to go with, join their clan, and acclimate to life in Sornieth.
Terra just so happened to be pointed out by one of the more intimidating obelisks. A simple 'I will go with them' from the pink and purple hued behemoth, and Terra now had a new clanmate.

The journey home was.. awkward, to say the least. her new companion, Obsidian, didn't talk much, only glancing over at Terra and fluffy bundle she was carrying.

At some point Obsidian offered to carry the squirming dragonet, after noticing the growing difficulty Terra was having, alongside all of the other supplies (from the caches to some of the leftover supplies) they were bring with them. Terra agreed, if only because the larger dragon wouldn't have as much trouble, even while already carrying everything else. As she had learned, Obelisks were pretty dang strong.

Buttercup quickly burrowed into the larger dragons fur, and as the two continued the journey to the castaway shores, Obsidian began to ask questions, about the clan, what kinds of dragons were there, what was it like, alongside general questions about life on the surface.
As Terra answered, she could sense Obsidian warming up a little, and she in turn warmed up to her new companion.

By the time the two arrived back at the town Terra, and now Buttercup & Obsidian, called home, they had bonded.

Just in time to confuse her clanmates with their two new larger and very fluffy clanmates.
