Nymphaea is a typical Spiral in some respects. She is excitable and energetic, and a little 'all over the place' by her own admission. A light-speed thinker and decision-maker, but unfortunately, she isn't the smartest. Being from Light flight, her parents were a little disappointed. Unfortunately for them, Nymphaea didn't care half so much as them, and spend her time in youth playing around the Mirrorlight Promenade and just generally enjoying herself. Wherever she went, when she hadn't worn herself out, things glowed and glistened, and this was generally attributed to her being a dragon who did, in fact, enjoy shiny things.

Deep into the cold season, still in her youth, Nymphaea discovered a large hole in the ground, and flew down to its bottom, discovering a huge Ridgeback to be its source. She was in a deep, deep sleep, clearly having exerted herself in the digging. Concerned, Nym left her and returned with a fish, waiting half a day for her to wake. When the Ridgeback woke, she introduced herself as Stain, and ate the fish, listening to the little dragon blather on about everything she could think to say. Nym talked about her home, and her parents, and her friends, and how she found Stain, and she worked herself so much, ranting in the dark with her new pal, that she lit up, and Stain saw that this tiny, stupid dragon was chock full of magical potential. Stain grabbed her, and Stain flew, far away, back to her home in the Starwood Strand.

Nymphaea was sad for a time. She had no chance to say goodbye to her family. She was just gone. She missed her home, and her parents, and just generally didn't enjoy her new life. This lasted only a short time, as Stain had plans for her. Stain taught her about magic, and how their whole world ran with it. She taught her about her own magical affinity, and the amazing things she could do with it. She taught her to hunt with it, and to heal with it, and to control how she lit things up. She taught her how to protect where she slept, to protect who she loved, and between all of these things, and how easily Nym took to it, she found little time to stew in her unhappiness. Eventually she had herself a strange, but ultimately enjoyable relationship with Stain, and the pair traveled together a whole year.

Toward the end of that year, Stain and Nymphaea grew tired of the nomad lifestyle. Stain was aging, and her research was harder to continue when she couldn't set down to it. Nymphaea, being young, was always restless, and desired something different of life. They happened upon an old Guardian, Alma, and her mate, and the pair welcomed them into their lair, set in a cliff by the Everbloom Gardens. It was called, simply, The Shrine, and the pair loved it dearly. These dragons became family, near as quick as they'd gotten there, their whole grouping being a motley assortment of misfit dragons, all come there to worship their deities and continue their quick and deep kinships. Stain even found a mate, who shared her love of research and experimentation. There were a great many who were not so accepting of Stain, whose practices they questioned. When word got out of Nym's kidnapping, even fewer stood by her, but Alma was certain that Stain was better, that she was still good, and she was allowed to stay.

Nym loved to practice her magic around the little ones, and worked with Stain and her mate to protect the shrine, and added a Light segment to it. While there, an unnamed Coatl joined the Shrine. The pair grew close, and and they, along with Stain and her mate, named him Ward, and the group tasked themselves with making the Shrine a nigh impenetrable domain, where dragons of a great many affiliations were safe from outside threat. It was a good time for the Shrine, and for Nym. Ward was the yin to her yang in so many ways. He was a level head to hers in the clouds, a physical fighter to her magical attacks, a dragon born to magic and choosing other pursuits to her birth to knowledge and choosing magic. They were drawn to each other, and they devoted themselves to each other, and their clan.

Long after this, Alma, her mate Indigo, Stain, and almost all of the other clan members decided. It was time to give themselves to the Gods. Those whose time it wasn't yet left for other clans.

And in the end, Nymphaea and Ward just... couldn't leave the place. It was their home, that they worked so hard on. They were still so young. They stayed, and in Alma's spirit, started their own family there. Nymphaea keeps up the Light portion of the shrine, and is the Shrine's leader alongside Ward. She has a hand in caring for hatchlings, finds new recruits, tends to matters of the emotional and spiritual sort, and keeps up their defenses.
