"He was holding my favorite necklace when it happened..."

Do I still carry my mate around with me? Yes, although to be honest I'm not sure why I bother. It was shocking, what happened, but considering it was in the middle of a fight in which he was threatening to snap my favorite necklace, I'm not certain it was much of a loss. The necklace was, certainly. Now I'll never get it back. If I could get my claws on the dragon who did this... Holden took his loss much harder than me. He still says her name in his sleep, sometimes. I'm not jealous, just sad for him. Though I suppose, we never would have met if... but anyway. Shared experiences, and all that. It took a while for the bond to be formed even then, but he's begun to smile again, and that makes me happy. We have our daughter, and that makes me happier. Life moves on.
