Biography
Lonan, unlike the company he keeps, is no accomplished scholar. It's entirely likely he wouldn't have come on this expedition at all had the lead researchers not been his partners, a fact he is increasingly aware of. During one of the early excursions into the Everdark, before anyone knew much at all about it, he was nearly consumed by it; he was rescued in time, but his eyes were left changed. Now, they constantly spill darkness, and he is much more sensitive to light than he had been. The rest of the expedition fusses over him incessantly; if he had any particular skills to put to use he wouldn't get a chance between the number of dragons checking after his health. This is aggravating, for a dragon who was already asocial, and it leaves him feeling guilty and a bit useless. He helps where he can, but even the dim light of Beacon Town is a bit too bright for him some days. |

Faction
The Seekers, led by Lux, believe that the only way to break the curse on the Lanternlighters is to venture into the Everdark, seek out its source, and either reason with it or destroy it. They make frequent excursions into the darkness, accompanied only by lanterns and what magic they can afford, trying to map its corners and find the center. Lux theorizes that whatever lies at the heart of the Everdark is alive; perhaps, whatever it is, it can lift the curse. Lux is the only dragon who allows Lonan at least a chance to help, even if it is only dull researching and copying down notes. It helps, too, that Lux and Melchior are the only dragons with an acceptable excuse to fuss over Lonan; he imagines he would do the same in their situation. He calls himself a Seeker, though many of the others ignore it because he never leaves Beacon Town. |

Possessions
Lonan started with little, and has had no opportunity to get more. Most of his time is spent taking notes and reading old books -- or, when the mood strikes him, standing out at the edge of Beacon Town and staring out into the Everdark. Not a lot of hobbies to be had in Beacon Town, and Lonan spends enough time cooped up that he doesn't particularly enjoy being stuck inside all the time. His possessions are hardly his, but he keeps research and note-taking materials on him anyway. If he can help, even a small amount, he wants to. |

Lux | Lover | Seeker Faction Lonan and Lux have known each other for a very long time, and it was at her insistence that Lonan accompanied her on this expedition; he knows she blames herself for his injury, and wishes he could convince her that it was nobody's fault. He tolerates her worry because she is also the only one who lets him keep working to help. |

Lonan suspects Melchior doesn't have enough to occupy him, because he is constantly checking up on Lonan's health. Lonan puts up with it only because he loves him, but there is a difference between worried and smothering, and Melchior is toeing that line. It's never a good time to talk about it, though. |

Bevan | Associate | Sentinel Faction Lonan spent quite a bit of time in the medic's tent after his injury, and then even longer after it was confirmed that nobody really knew what had happened to him. Bevan is agreeable enough; he is more concerned with Lonan's safety than his health for the moment, and he is quiet when Lonan asks for it. More than can be said for the others. |

Elyon and Lonan spend a bit of time together in their research; Elyon is a student of the linguist who was meant to come on this expedition, and he seems smart enough, but he's a bit arrogant for Lonan's taste; Lonan minimizes the interactions he has to have with him. |
