From when he was a mere hatchling, August loved attention. When it was showtime at the circus in which he was raised, the baby snapper would dance and babble along to the music backstage, relishing as his parents and the performers waiting to go on cooed and cheered for him. Given his love of the spotlight, it seemed obvious to everyone that the young dragon would one day take to the circus ring with an act of his own. Indeed he would, but only as a means to and end; August had always had bigger plans. As he matured, it became clear to him that his future career lay not in the circus ring, but on the grand stage: he was destined to become an actor.

The theatre suits August very well, as he is a melodramatic person both on and off the stage. Every matter is a matter of great importance when it concerns him, and to say that he sometimes makes mountains out of molehills would be a gross understatement. His emotions also lie very close to the surface, and he is prone to dramatic outbursts of anger, sadness, and joy alike. He can be a difficult actor to work with, and has a tendency to sulk when his performance is criticised, or when the director disagrees about the way he chooses to portray a certain role. At heart though, he is a caring dragon, and being so in touch with his emotions makes him deeply empathetic to the feelings of others as well.

Ironically given his heritage, August is deathly afraid of mimics. This is partially due to the stories his mother would tell him growing up, which made them out to be much more fearsome and deadly than they are in reality. Mostly though, his fear stems from the time he was nearly bitten by a mimic familiar as a hatchling, after trying to use the harmless looking chest as a stage. Although he escaped unscathed, to this day he can still be found side-eyeing any household items that look a bit too "lifelike" for his tastes. One time, a fan of August's performances gifted him a lovely homemade footrest, only for him to smash it to bits upon becoming suspicious of this strange piece of furniture waiting outside his abode. He would later send the fan in question free tickets to his next show and an autographed fragment of wood, by way of an apology.
