Born of a spirit in the Great Furnace, Niamh's heart burns for as long as the massive volcano. Eternally young and vibrant, she is very powerful, as befitting her lineage and origins. Despite her beginnings as a spirit-hatchling, she chose to take a corporeal form and allow her magic to seep into her blood, sizzling in her veins.

Prior to taking a physical shape, she drifted through Sornieth as a wisp of smoke. It was during these travels that she first saw a struggling dragon, with the potential for great power damped by hunger and desperation. Had she been capable, Niamh would have sobbed with misery at the loss of such majesty. She could see that all this suffering soul needed was stabilization and a chance to prove himself, and thus presented herself to him with a promise: join her in courtship and she would give him all he needed. The dragon accepted her offer, and so began the romance of Niamh and Oisin. She presented him with a mantle of greenery befitting their spiritual standing and magical prowess, and gave him a piece of her fiery heart to burn in his chest.
