-Born in the Worldedge Wetlands, he's been an eccentric and bizarre man pretty much all his life. Always fascinated by the very things his parents would warn him away from, entranced by the stories meant to scare and frighten them, and desperate to have a place in it. There wasn't any for him though. He wasn't particularly adept at magic, he was a normal person, he came from a family of politics not magic, and a normal town. The only thing extraordinary about him was his skill as a painter. He was talented in multiple mediums, but became known for his beautiful oil portraits he created of the people around town, and excused thusly for his weird habits. He still had them after all. He was still obsessed. It only came to a height when he found the remains of a bizarre animal on a hike one day, and out of curiosity decided to consume them. He's never been the same since. And neither has his art. His beautiful portraits became twisted and terrifying, their subjects forever depicting great tragedy, and terrifying curses and beasts. That's all they are, though. Scary pictures. And he continues to make plenty of lovely ones too, for those who speak respectfully to him and request his services as an artist. Rumours surround him and his works, some observing that clients who he turned down seem to encounter great tragedies themselves soon after, some saying in hushed whispers that paintings were found on the scenes - but anyone is yet to prove that he created them. August Bellardi is a very weak magic user, after all. He doesn't have the ability to curse those people the way they were. Such gossip isn't worth his attention though - only a certain sickly dragon is. After moving to the Starwood Strand to pursue his interest in the bizarre, he met with Nihil Tornincasa, and has centered his entire life around him ever since. Giving him all of his time, and all of his heart. But Nihil was not long for this world. He had made this fact evident to August, and sought no intervention. Their time was fated to be brief. August could not accept this. Would not. ...... Nihil hasn't left August's house for far longer than anyone is comfortable with. No one has seen him in more than glimpses, and August won't speak of him. To anyone who knows them both, it is obvious that something has changed, something no one looking in can see. And the eccentric painter is quite reluctant these days to let anyone near his studio.
-Though eccentric, he's generally regarded as being a pleasant individual. He's bright and bubbly, with an infectious positive energy about him that brings the whole rooms vibe up while he's in it. All his little odd habits like dressing in confusing clashing colors or speaking in nonsensical metaphors and telling bizarre stories are easily ignored when overall people find you fun to be around instead of frustrating. Besides, he has an extremely good eye for design and color that breathes life into anything he works on! He's fond of other people too, so he enjoys spending that time with them and helping out around town, he especially enjoys working with children for how open their minds are to the whimsical too. And of course when it comes to his partner, he's a big softie and a worrywart. He's always running around after him, trying to take care of him and be as gentle as he can, and sheltering him from anything he finds too difficult. But be warned... he isn't a pushover. If you slight him- betray your promise to him, refuse to pay him as much as he's worth, speak cruelly to him or Nihil- well, who knows what might happen next? When he disappears into his studio again.
-Partnered with Nihil, who he couldn't live without- perhaps a little too literally...
