To be a sorceress, one must have certain measure of patience. Which Aleta has, so long as things are just so. Sudden, loud sounds are the bane of her existence, and entirely throw off her concentration. Not to mention that it is so difficult to study in an unclean environment. For these reasons, Aleta resides in the Starswept Clan's hidden garden, where few know of her existence and even fewer actually know her. Which is perfectly well and good to her: sorceresses tend to be the sort dragons feel they can go to for spells, and are often made the villain when they refuse.

Poised, organized, hypercritical, and easily frustrated, Aleta holds a few unkind beliefs about the dragons outside of her garden, and is typically very dismissive of any who try to talk to her. A truly interesting dragon has yet to come by at any rate, and her studies are far more important than idle small talk. Given the correct socialization, Aleta could become an attentive and gentle dragon, but she's unlikely to let another so close.
Her former mentor was a great sorceress. Aleta is not hesitant to share as much with any dragon who may come by, though her mentor's name has yet to be heard. A great sorceress, yes, but one trapped and afraid. She instilled in Aleta a great fear of other dragons, who may seek to use Aleta's power for themselves, as she taught her the ways and whims of the faefolk and the energies of the earth. When Aleta's mentor was killed for refusing to conjure a murderous spell for her captor, Aleta herself fled her former home, taking all of her mentor's books and notes she could hold.

And so, Aleta is alone in a garden hidden from the knowledge of most. She doesn't think herself particularly lonely as she tends to the delicate and magical plants within, though some part of her is aware her mentor would have wanted more from her. Her familiar seems to think so too, frequently tricking dragons into encountering Aleta in the hopes that its charge finds a companion, much to the consternation of Aleta herself.
