Clan mother figure and local nature dragon born in an arcane's body, Alva can always be found either in her garden or flitting about the clan checking in on everyone. She founded the clan alongside Rory when she found him digging his first lair out of the Crystalspine Reaches. She is a kind and loving fae and tends to lean towards the quiet side like her mate. Despite her difficulties communicating she does her best and often can be found helping defuse arguments and making sure everyone eats their meals or gets enough rest. When she's not amongst her clan she can almost always be found in her garden tending to the flora and fauna there.

━ ROLE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

For as long as she can remember, Alva has always felt a connection to the plants and creatures around her. Animals seem far more at ease with her and she’s always found that plants respond positively to her. Since the earliest days in their original crystalline lair, Alva has created her own little niche areas brimming with life. At first it was ivy covered walls and more potted plants than should reasonably be able to fit in such a small room. Then she discovered the Grove that connected to their burrow within the Starwood Strand. Since then she has been tending to a multitude of animals and plants both to help supplement the clan's needs as well as to preserve and protect the local wildlife. She adores studying nature and as the clan grew she brought in more helpers to maintain her garden and expand her research. Amongst these are both dragons and beastclan alike with several dryads taking up residence and protecting the rest of the garden's inhabitants as well as a mix of centaurs and other allied beastclan members.

Much like her mate, Alva keeps her past close to her chest and only shares it with those she trusts most. Before meeting Rory she came from a massive clan of fae that met a tragedy as the lair they called home fell to its doom, taking its perch with it. Alva never speaks of it and will go very quiet whenever asked about where she came from before meeting Rory. Those who can recognize fae body language will know immediately what a sore subject it is. Amongst those aware they sometimes speculate that throwing herself into mothering the clan and taking in lost hatchlings is her attempt to make up for the loss of her old clan. However she would never admit it and focuses on making sure no one is left behind that remains within her walls.

After watching so many hatchlings both of her own blood as well as those she adopted move on past the clan she began to distance herself from raising them. The task fell to other caretakers in the clan and Alva found herself more and more absorbed in her research and caretaking of the local flora and fauna. Before Azura took over leadership she focused on making sure to pick up where Rory left off, sharing the burden the best she could. However this caused her beloved plants to grow neglected until Azura took over. Finally Alva was able to throw herself back into what she loved but made sure to never forget those around her. While Rory is far more reserved, letting Azura come to him, Alva on the other hand is more proactive. Whether Azura is aware of it or not, her mother still works to make sure things remain organized and running smoothly so as to take the burden off the busy nocturne's shoulders.

Alva’s mate and beloved, she discovered the odd tundra while he clawed out a lair from the large crystal spines. His quiet nature convinced her to stay and the two worked silently side by side to make a new home. Over time a bond grew and they soon fell in love. It took quite a bit of time for Rory to finally understand her fae body language with some patient help and many explanations from her. In turn she does her best to be there for him as well. She adores the time she has with him and loves to perch on his fluffy body.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FRAN ━

Her eldest daughters are incredibly precious to Alva as she feared their first brood would have complications due to it being her first time tending to non-fae hatchlings. Alva has so much pride for Fran and is overjoyed to see her find her calling. While communication isn't easy she still does her best to express her love to them. Alva doesn't see as much of Fran as she would like to but treasures the moments she does and enjoys being able to provide much needed supplies to her daughter for her alchemy work.

Much like how Fran is closer to Rory, Alva shares a very strong bond with her second eldest daughter. She loves them equally of course but understands Sophyia's difficulties in finding her way. She has remained supportive of her daughter and once she found her passion Alva couldn't help but tear up in joy. In a way she is happy to see her daughter take up the mantle she had tried to carry of keeping the peace and knows that Sophyia goes so far beyond that. She spends more time with Sophie than any of her other children as the two regularly share meals within the greenhouse or work together with beastclan members.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ AZURA ━

Alva adores her adopted daughter just as much as her blood kin and tended to her egg with all the tender care she gave to her previous ones. While Rory handled training, Alva helped her to develop her social and leadership skills. When Azura wanted to help lead the clan she could not express how proud she was of her baby girl who had grown up so much. While their paths don't cross as much as Alva wished they did, she still goes out of her way to make time for her daughter when she has free time. Outside of that she flits around and tries her best to make sure to help out where she can to ease Azura's burden.

Alva finds herself equally distant from Mello as her mate but Mello is still her daughter just as much as any of her other children. She finds the fire dragon a delight to talk to and is glad that the rambunctious nocturne doesn’t mind Alva’s communication difficulties. She finds doing gathering runs to be her favorite time to spend with Mello as they enjoy the work and easy chatter.

APPRENTICE

Alva never really saw herself gaining an apprentice like others in the clan had. She had Verdant and a handful of beastclan folk to help her in the gardens so she hardly struggled to maintain them. So it was quite a shock when a large light imperial donned in a hood and greenery approached her one day asking for mentorship. Alva didn't have the heart to say no to such a sincere request and so Vayu joined her fold. The two have grown quite close since then and while the imperial has learned all that Alva has to teach she still adores working in the massive greenhouse. Alva certainly enjoys the extra company and helping hands too.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ VERDANT ━

While visiting the Viridian Labyrinth Alva met a tundra not unlike her mate. Verdant was a curiosity who seemed to fluently understand fae language and the two struck up easy conversations throughout her visit. However she could not stay long as she had to return to her clan. He offered to come back with her after she explained their recent troubles and the pair traveled back. Since then Verdant has been a close friend and has co-managed much of Alva's greenhouse, taking over whenever she's unavailable.

While Freya is hard to get along with, Alva has managed to find a happy middle ground with the enigmatic nature dragon. The fae knows that despite the difficulties in expressing it that the strange druid still appreciates being reunited with her long lost brother. Despite extending the offer to join her clan, Freya has refused to leave her sanctuary in the Labyrinth and so Alva and Verdant tend to make annual trips out there during the Greenskeeper Gathering to celebrate with her.

━ Clover ━

During the third Night of the Nocturne after the clan had moved to their newly dug burrow lair in the Starstrand Alva discovered a curious new creature. In fact it was one she had never even heard of, a cute little bunny with wings like her beloved butterflies. The creature was quite nearly as big as her and had a playful personality that so dearly reminded her of Mello as a hatchling. She scribbled down all she could including a sketch of the little critter. She watched it every night as it ran amongst the trees, seemingly enchanted by the starry leaves above. However as the nocturnal celebrations came to a close so did sightings of the little creatures she came to learn were called flutterbuns. Alva would not see her little friend until a couple years later after they had moved into their wing of the Observatory. Upon returning to the location of their old burrow, the meteors still scattered about she found the precious creature flittering about as though nothing had changed in all that time.

Alva approached the critter this time, getting to know the little guy. However as the night came to a close he seemed reluctant to return to his burrow after growing so close to the dragon who's colors mimicked his own. He ended up following Alva all the way home, an impressive feat and she couldn't bare making him return and so he was adopted into the clan. He was dubbed Clover after the food he seemed to favor most and how Alva swore the little green bunny brought her luck. He became one of her best garden assistants, flittering about in the greenhouse tending to odds and ends or fetching things as needed.
