━ OVERVIEW ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Growing up in the earlier days of the Starwood Clan, Azura has seen it flourish from its humble beginnings to the great bustling hub of cross elemental exploration it has become. She began her life by finding herself through the skies above, seeking out fallen stars and learning everything she could about astronomy. However she realized that her clan was quickly growing around her and if she wanted to see it survive she would need to take a stand herself. So she pulled her head out of the clouds (for now) and offered to take up leadership herself. Of course she wasn't alone as she had her whole family to support her as well as those who made up the core of the clan. With that Azura took over and has been leading ever since, pushing for cross-element collaboration and encouraging research in all things magical and mysterious.

Azura is known to be a relatively calm dragon and unlike her parents isn't actually all too quiet. However she pales in comparison to her boisterous younger sister, preferring to let Mello take the spotlight when they talk. She has natural leadership qualities and while she can easily get overwhelmed running an ever growing clan, she takes it in stride and has over time learned how to lean on those around her when she needs to. She cares deeply for her clan mates and would do anything to keep them safe and happy.

━ ROLE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Azura handles the majority of clan leadership duties. She is primarily responsible for making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible and the clan remains safe. Most of her work involves keeping everything organized, planning out gathering or coliseum runs, making sure they have enough food and treasure and so on. She isn’t alone in her job however and falls back quite a bit on her family to help her keep everything working. She also acts as the face of the clan and is the first to officially invite new dragons to join.

Outside of her official work, Azura still makes time for her favorite hobby, astronomy. Since she was a hatchling she's been obsessed with the stars above and fervently seeks out new meteors when she spots them falling. Over time as much of the leadership duties became dispersed amongst the different sections of the clan she began taking up apprentices even. She enjoys the chance to spread her knowledge of magic and stars to others and is grateful to have someone she can just be herself with instead of only their leader.

━ HISTORY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Azura has been part of the clan since the very first Night of the Nocturne that took place on Sornieth. Rory and Alva discovered her egg in the midst of the Starwood Strand while exploring during the strange festivities. Bringing it home the pair were able to successfully hatch it and a lovely platinum and azure hatchling popped out. As she blinked her eyes open she revealed stunning pink eyes akin to her adopted parents. Azura has been beloved by her clan since that day and always was willing to lend a claw even when she was too small to help.

Before the end of the first Nocturne Nights, Azura discovered another egg which she carefully brought home to her parents. Determined to help in the hatching she curled her still small body around it to keep it warm until finally the thick shell began to crack and emanate an even stronger heat. Before she knew it she was face to face with a little orange-eyed sibling that resembled her. Ecstatic to have someone like her in the clan, she spent much of their childhood together and became near inseparable.

Azura also quickly discovered an intense love for the stars, staying up many late nights to gaze at them until her father fashioned her a telescope and began teaching her what he knew. Soon her small makeshift observatory was filled to the brim with star maps and homemade equipment. One night she actually caught a falling star which became her most prized possession, an item she flew incredibly far for to catch before it was lost to the waves. It earned her the title of “Starcatcher” as no one within the clan had ever been able to actually catch the falling rocks and crystals nor knew of anyone who had.

One night while gathering within the Tangled Wood Azura ran into fallen nocturne covered in sludge she had come to recognize as the Shadowbinder's. While she was nervous to touch the strange substance, her desire to help won out and she brought him back home to help heal him. While the muck couldn't be completely removed, he did seem to recover but with quite a spotty memory. Regardless Azura soon found herself falling for his silly charm and quick wit. The two quickly became mates and as Azura took up leadership of the clan he stood proudly beside her. Supporting her as the captain of the clan's defenders and acting as her second in command. While their lives are busy and full of work to keep the clan running smoothly she treasures every moment she can spend with him.

Since Azura was little she has looked up to Rory for his knowledge and magical skills which mystified her. She has continued to remain incredibly close to him despite the hardships they have endured. She depended heavily on Rory to learn many of her skills growing up especially in battle and magic use. Her happiest memories however are spending many long nights stargazing with her father. During quieter days she still enjoys visiting his workshop and simply watching him work or talking to him as he listens to her troubles or rambles.

While she feels closer to her father, Azura still loves her mother dearly and appreciates everything the small fae continues to do for her. Alva has taught Azura everything she knows about leadership and communication and she still goes to her mother for advice and help. While it's not as often as she likes, Azura treasures the brief moments she has time to spend with Alva especially when its walks or sharing a meal in her beautiful gardens.

Since the day Mello hatched, the two were nigh inseparable. Mello followed the elder nocturne around like a lost puppy and practically treated Azura more like her mother than Alva. Despite the few arguments and problems that came up the two quickly made up and became close friends once more. As time went on Mello grew into a dragon of her own but never left Azura behind. The two remain as close as two peas in a pod still and Azura is grateful to know her sister always has her back. While most of their interactions are due to business they still banter back and forth across the training arena or while out gathering supplies.

Despite the great distance caused by her elder sisters' parting, Azura has grown to become quite close to Fran upon her return. The tundra was a welcome reprieve from her busy days as she settled down to chat while Fran put materials to brew. They did have a rocky start upon her return as Azura had grown accustomed to only sharing their parents' attention with Mello but soon settled into a happy medium as she realized there was plenty of love to go around. Some of her favorite memories are when she's able to relax in the back of Rory's workshop as he and Fran bustle back and forth on projects. Fran and Azura chatting as Rory works quietly away the project, listening to the two interact.

Like Fran, Azura had some minor issues connecting with her other elder sister. She had known both of them prior to their departure but she had still been quite young and much of her time was taken up by Mello. She's sad to admit there had been days back then she forgot she had elder sisters but is happy to have them back in her life now. Azura often found her second eldest sister to be a surprising well of wisdom she had only be able to find with their mother. Azura continues to seek Sophyia’s advice when she questions matters regarding beastclans or negotiating.

Stella was almost like a half sister to Azura when the young skydancer was growing up. For the longest time Azura can remember how she's always looked up to the older nocturne with stars in her eyes and so much admiration. The pair developed a psuedo-sisterly bond and good friendship before Azura began taking apprentices. Since she began teaching Stella, Azura has grown proud of her student's achievements as she makes leaps and bounds in understanding magic.

Somnium was a curious sort, one who displayed very unique traits for an arcane dragon. Never before had she heard of one who had both arcane and wind magic which led her to getting in contact with him. She had heard rumors of the arcane houses and suspected he might be a descendant of a Dreamstrider. Azura decided to take him under her wing in order to help him better develop his abilities and he has flourished into a far more confident mage thanks to her.

As leadership became easier and more dispersed amongst the clan's many members, Azura began returning her focus to the stars and her astronomy work. This brought the attention of Nebula who had long heard of the impressive nocturne but never had a chance to reach out. He requested mentorship which she happily provided, grateful to have someone to finally share her passion with and teach. While the two aren't as much friends as Azura feels with her other apprentices she does maintain a good relationship with him if a bit more on the professional side.

ASSISTANT

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GLOW ━

At one point following the chaos in their wing of Observatory, Azura was bustling about the structure's central hub and ran into a small but kind little fae named Glow. The starry winged dragon helped the stressed out nocturne and as Azura rambled about her troubles Glow offered her assistance. Azura was thrilled to find someone who could help her manage her passion without it taking away from her other duties. In exchange Glow simply asked that Glimmer, her mate, have the opportunity to record her clan's history and have access to their archives. Soon a deal was struck between Azura, Fable and the pair of fae, adding two more to the clan's growing numbers.

━ Cygnus ━

When Azura was a hatchling she had discovered a small bunny she later came to learn was called an "irradiated astronomer." Why she had no idea but it was a good friend of hers until the rabbit ran away. The trip to the Starwood Strand had been far from easy and the little bunny slipped out of sight before the burrow was complete. Azura mourned the lost of her childhood pet, refusing to find a new companion until the day a missive arrived not long after the loss of her home in the wood. A thin pink bird that looked like those that circled the Observatory came carrying a letter addressed by the Arcanist himself. While she doubted it was truly by the Arcanist she had very few choices when it came to what her clan could do following the destruction of their burrow. She cared for the creature while she met with her clan mates over the opportunity.

After discussion was had and plans were made the bird was sent back with a message in response before the entire clan pulled what little they had together and began the long journey to their hopefully new home. What Azura had not expected was the return of said bird. However this time it wore no armor, no shimmering collar around its neck. It found her as they made their way up the Focal Point towards their goal and refused to leave her side. Since then, Cygnus has kept with her and acted as both her companion and prompt messenger alongside the small Gloomwillow Guide she shares with her mate Daedra.
