Biography

Hush, little one. The night is coming, so close your eyes, and I will tell you a story.
An old, old story about the wolf who tried to steal the moon -
and about the dragon who succeeded.

Cling. Cling.

Branwen's bracelets are softly tinkling in the night while she silently moves amidst the sleepy hatchlings, righting their wings so that they don't end up rumpled in the morning, touching their scaly heads and smiling when they murmur something trying to burrow deeper in the warm sand.

She loves the night. She is the night. Her pearl is glowing softly, made of years and years of memories, of stars and moons and faraway galaxies swirling up above.

She waits until the last of the hatchlings is asleep - and then she leaves the lair and spreads her wings, merging with the dark sky.

Some hatchlings say that her pearl is the real moon, brough to her by her loyal Hati. She smiles when she hears that, and lets them touch the pearl which smears shiny glitter over their small paws, and they giggle and paint each other's faces with glowing lines and squiggles.

The pearl doesn't get dull because of that. Rather, it seems that it shines even brighter when little ones laugh and draw luminescent doodles all over the walls of the lair.
