A young yet independent student from a rich, faraway academy, Marlin (or Marlie as Akikho calls him) was swept into Vathlune by a current and has decided to stay after meeting his now-partner Akihiko. Due to Marlin’s rather spontaneous appearance, he lost his pearl, which now rests somewhere on the ocean floor, or possibly destroyed. He has a friendly and well-mannered personality (which was only apparent after the depressive months he spent after losing his beloved pearl), but he has a hard time being direct and sincere with others. He has an utterly horrendous sense of humour that has unfortunately spread to Akikho too.
