HISTORY
Born in the STARWOOD STRAND 
|
Adara wasn't born; she was made. The Starwood Strand conjured her into existence as a fully grown adult, bypassing the need for an egg or even a hatchling phase. One moment, she was not. Then, the next moment, she was. Simple as that. From the moment of her creation, she knew her destiny: to guard the forest that gave her life. As soon as she figured out the configuration of her limbs, and opened her multitudinous eyes, she was off to fulfill that destiny. Adara didn't strictly mean to found a clan, but the Strand has a way of eating stray souls, and as its Guardian, Adara had to take care of the problem somehow. She didn't need to root her mountainside grotto in a physical location. She simply told the woods to send her its wanderers. The wood listened. Thus, the Brilliant Sky Clan was born, a light in the gloom. With Adara at its helm, the clan blossomed. Researchers flocked to its library from across the globe. Countless lost souls found a home. The Starwood Strand created a Guardian, but got far more: a mother, a guide, and a fierce leader, to show the world its brilliant skies. |

PERSONALITY
Proud, noble Adara may have a ferociously imposing stare, but underneath her crystalline hide lies a boundless love for her clan and her forest. Wise for her age, and levelheaded, the whole clan respects her wisdom as much as they fear her magical power. While Adara can't cast spells, the landscape has imbued her with massive quantities of latent magic, enough to contort her body. Starwood branches grow like limbs out of her shoulders, and her eyes constantly change number, size, and position. There's a rumor going around that she actually IS the Starwood Strand itself, given dragon form--and no one, not even Adara, knows whether or not that's true. Adara doesn't care, however. Interconnectedness makes her strong. She's a part of the trees, and they are a part of her, and they are all tiny specks in an infinite universe. This connection to the forest has given Adara wisdom and perspective. She's not only the leader because she's the clan founder. She's also the leader because she herself is like a tree: all-seeing, unbending, patient. She takes a very long time to formulate her opinions, but even longer to change them. Adara would rather say nothing at all than say something she doesn't mean with every cell of her body, and every leaf in the Starwood Strand. |

RELATIONSHIPS

|
Adara is the metaphorical beating heart of the clan. While others may deal with administrative work, or research, or lair maintenance, Adara makes sure all those jobs come together to form a cohesive whole, with a common goal and a common set of values. She spends lots of time listening. She spends lots of time deep in thought. She spends lots of time communing with the trees. Although her title is that of "leader," she thinks of herself more as a servant, of both her clan and her forest.
