Marrow

To the Compound, Marrow is a special dragon—he’s the first one to be born there.
Though maybe “born” isn’t the right word; it might be more accurate to say “first dragon to survive all the way through the process of being grown in a vat.” There are many like Marrow in the Compound—all of them are generally aborted just before they finish developing so they can be used for testing. Whether someone purposefully let Marrow finish growing, or if he just happened to be forgotten among the dozens and dozens of other fetuses long enough to be born, is unknown. Whatever the case, he’s here now, and the members of the Compound are very happy to have him around.
Due to his original purpose being test subject fodder, his genetic makeup with a little strange—he’s been built with white, weak scales to make cutting him open easier, and his underbelly’s completely transparent for the sake of observing his internal processes. Despite this, he seems relatively healthy, albeit rather easy to bruise.
Desperate to ensure that he lives long enough to obtain sufficient data, the other dragons in the Compound constantly dote on him. Largely oblivious to their intent, though, Marrow is just happy to have people being so nice to him.
