Demeter was one of two of her parents first children in years. She and her kin were also the first youngsters the clan over all had seen in quite some time although not nearly as long. Point being was she had no real playmates except for her brother who she tired of quickly as most siblings do. The only dragons who she could really duel with were about twice her size and far more experienced. At first dragons around her original clan wrote off her battle requests but as time went on it became increasingly more difficult to ignore the tiny dragon shrieking "DISHONOR" at their feet. Demeter learned quickly that she couldn't take these dragons. Even with them going easy on her Demeter was no match and nine times out of ten would end up on the verge of tears from hitting a wall or pulling a wing. Even the one time where she wouldn't end up hurt she still didn't win but merely gave up before anything escalated further. She always won against her brother but since she had no luck against adult dragons she didn't recognize her talent. Once grown Demeter left her clan mates alone and tried not to get into any trouble. Her self esteem getting the better of her. When her parents offered her and her brother an opportunity to join a foreign clan looking for founder's children Demeter was reluctant. Joining a clan with limited wildclaws seemed like such a strange concept. Would there be enough dragons to battle with? Who would she take as her mate? She didn't like the idea of a romantic partner who didn't share the her beliefs on how to raise eggs, a partner who she couldn't battle with out fear they might break. In the end she decided that an environment like that might be good for her, with not so many of her kind to embarrassed herself around. Once in her new home she found a crush in all the handsome wildclaws who were at the top of the rankings. There were really only two, being Xyar and Pluto. She mostly tried not to interact with them as she feared they might challenge her and she would loose their respect as a possible mate. When Neptune showed up it was no different. Demeter found him attractive and he looked strong, being about her same size. Although looks can be deceiving as she quickly discovered. Neptune challenged her almost immediately and was torn to shreds. Demeter won so easily she thought he could have been a fae. For a day or so after their fight she stuck her nose up at him, he was too weak for even her taste in friendship. That was until she saw him limping one day, looking horribly pitiful from what she had done to him. From that day forward she helped nurse him back to health, creating a strong bond between the two dragons. Neptune saw this as an intimate relationship but Demeter was sure to keep him at a wingspan, mearly friends. This didn’t stop Neptune from constantly asking Demeter to battle. Obviously she wasn't going to say no but there was no shame in going easy on him, at least not for her. What she didn't notice though was that she was slowly going less and less easy on him. She over looked this because she was still winning every time. Eventually one night she just wasn't going easy anymore, and Neptune bested her. She was shocked, astonished even. How did this happen? What was even more wild was that is kept happening. Neptune won, over and over again, never with as much ease as Demeter had at one point but effort didn't change the outcome. Once Neptune's confidence was as high as it had ever been, he challenged her to a duel, for her hand. Demeter, needless to say, was quite scared. He was sure to win this next duel but she couldn't back down. That was like saying her liviely hood wasn't worth fighting for and she would be his anyway. Her only option was to give this fight all she had. So she did. She put all the force she could muster into her lunges. Strained her legs to push herself forward. If it hadn't been between two good friends you would have thought they were both going for blood. As she was battling Demeter realized something, she was giving this fight her all. Her challenger was as strong, if not stronger then she was. Demeter already knew she loved Neptune as a friend, loving him as a life partner certainly couldn't be far off. While thinking this, she also decided she couldn't embarrass herself in front of her future mate, so she promptly kicked his butt. With her claw over his throat she told him she accepted his proposal and walked off with a grin plastered across her face. Neptune and Demeter are both simple advisors in foreign clan affairs. They usually are sent out when other wildclaws are involved as the strongest wildclaw pair in the clan they are the most equipped to handle duels initiated by other clans. Since most other breeds would decline battle offers this seems to work as a good set up to make our clan respected among their species. Since they are mostly only sent to other wildclaw run clans they are not very busy. Besides battling they also enjoy annoying Jasmine. She is the lowest ranking wildclaw in the clan and doesn't enjoy battling so naturally they try to involve her by telling her annoying jokes, asking her to make them new matching outfits every other week, and constantly telling her she needs to change the murals on their walls. They mean well but they really are a bother to poor Jasmine.
