His mother died when he was quite young—isn't that a beginning huh? Truth be told, Pallas was just a hatchling when she had passed. He could barely remember her, only the faint scent of sakura blossoms. He'd taken after her in that way, with flowers that grew out of his back and bloomed all over the surface of his pearl. Pallas would attract the eyes of other dragons, but nowhere near the kinds of stares his father had garnered.

Yvnoa had already been strange, and when Pallas' mother finally did pass it was not a huge surprise that they were driven out of town. It was no less frightening, however, and though he is ashamed to think it now he knows how bitter at his father he grew due to that. The two of them were sequestered, cut off from the world and Yvnoa himself had erected ice walls around his heart.

Pallas had never felt more alone in his life. There are times that he still feels bitter at his father for it. Of course, Yvnoa opened up again when he met Ieva. Pallas would always appreciate her for bringing his father out into the light once more. It did not, however, take the pain that time had brought Palls. The irreversible hurt he felt at having been abandoned by his parent after the other had passed.

Maybe that was why he had taken the oath, that so long as he was around he would do whatever he could in his power to make sure that no dragon felt alone with him around. He'd stand by them, be their friend when needed.
