"You will do great things Sarva," she could remember her parents saying to her. She'd always been a clever and bright dragon when young. It wasn't that they were trying to be unkind to her, when those words became more bane than boon. No, she had not expected that her parents were being hateful at all, but something about that had always made Sarva feel even more lonely.

They had such a lot of expectation for her, and it felt a sure thing that she would fail them. The only one who seemed to understand was her first real friend, Naywell. Her finding him, a strange creature who had no real shape, was a strange turn of fate for the both of them. They felt outcast for different reasons, so finding one another it felt natural. What was more, they filled the gaps that they needed - Naywell was useful for spells that required sight, and Sarva proved ample protection for her strange shapeshifting friend.

Even so, she eventually left her schooling. The pressure that her parents had of her being something greater than what she already was, the way all the world could not wait for her to be a big and wonderful thing. She could not do it, she could not handle that strain, so with Naywell she left.

For a time it was just the two of them, and it was especially awkward considering Sarva's desire to not fly (Naywell, while he could magically share his sight, was not great for flying due to a slight perspective shift). So when they stumbled upon a paladin in a flower field -- well. How romantic is that? Surrounded by fragrant petals?

Pallas, that had been his name, was a brave Pearlcatcher. She'd heard tale of them being cowards, but she felt certain it couldn't be true. Pallas was gallant and brave, he had introduced himself with a shy voice but she had instantly liked him. This gentle swordsdragon, who smelled always always of fields of flowers.

Naywell took to him too, that had to be a good sign. Naywell so rarely relaxed around others, and Pallas became one of the few who knew of his shapeshifting nature and intelligence. Of course, some dragons did bond with those in the Beast Clans, but Naywell was something else altogether.
