Wikipedia is based on the website. I'll admit, he was made out of spite towards school systems hating on Wikipedia. For those who don't know, at least in American school systems, there is a strong hatred towards Wikipedia because it's "unreliable" since anyone can edit it. Anyone being able to edit it is only half true. Yes anyone can edit it but that doesn't mean the monitors will let you. Believe it or not, Wikipedia's articles are not a free-for-all to edit like schools will have you believe. In 7th grade, my friend group decided to mess with Wikipedia articles. Almost as soon as we clicked "submit", the information was changed back to the previous version. We eventually got our entire school system banned from editing Wikipedia. And yet I still have friends— who were a part of this, mind you— who use our many attempts as proof of the site's unreliability. But back to school systems. I've been told— and I understand that this may not be true— that the hostility towards Wikipedia started back when it was created. Some educators felt like having free access to so much information was threatening their jobs and started rumors that the site was unreliable. These rumors are now commonly accepted. Another point: citations. Wikipedia is full of them. If information is missing a citation it says "citation needed" next to the information. Go to the bottom of a Wikipedia page and you will find tons of sources!
Making a Wikipedia fan dragon out of spite originated in my English class when I was told not to use the cite for a second opinion on an analysis of a song we picked from a list because of the site's "unreliability". If you comprehended that, you will notice something very strange. This was for a song lyric analysis, something that is almost always an opinion and not fact. And yet I couldn't use this "unreliable" source because anyone could edit it with their opinion. But wait, there's more. The sites we could choose from (anything else) were almost all founded on the author's opinion on what the lyrics ment. No citations of any kind. I'm not one to actively argue with those older than me as I try to avoid conflict, not to mention I was trying to stay on her good side, so I didn't point anything out. So instead I made a fan dragon out of spite.

This article is about the fan dragon. For Wikipedia's home page, see Main Page.
Wikipedia( /ˌwɪkɪˈpiːdiə/ ( listen) wik-ih-PEE-dee-ə or /ˌwɪki-/ ( listen) wik-ee-) Wikipedia has a great memory and can recall information about almost anything. He learns from reading, listening, and first-hand experiences and stores it all in his brain so that he can teach other, less educated, dragons. [1] Unfortunately, many of Sornieth's scholars, especially in the Arcane flight, have spread rumors saying that because Tundra's are known for their smell memory[2] and not their memory of what they've seen, heard, or read, Wikipedia's information is unreliable and easily influenced.
