Despite the looming danger from becoming mates with one of the "Experiments," Peony fell in love with Dawning during one of her outings from Versaille. She first met the male when she stepped out of the suffocation of an oasis and first faced the Wastelands head on, greeted by a strange - but oddly friendly - Gaoler that she very soon fell head-over-tail for. Soon thereafter she started to sneak from Versaille to meet with her forbidden lover, ignoring the terror - caused by Queen Erzulie - that looms over her ever day. But for now, their love shows no end.
