Volatinia

Matriarch of Clan Diomede, Volatinia is a patient, introspective dragon, prone to long periods of silent contemplation and philosophical musing. She may spend hours at the ledge overlooking the sea, meditating on the patterns of light the sun paints on the waves. What she finds in them she never discloses, but it is where she will be found before making an important decision, and therefore her clan believes that she is reading messages in the light.

She serves alongside her consort Vestis, though all dragons acknowledge that it is Volatinia who truly leads the clan. He may handle many of the administrative decisions, but she has final say and total veto in all matters. Very rarely has it ever been invoked to overrule any decision or deny any action put forward by her consort and their advisers. All potential applicants to the clan are subject to her approval before membership is granted.

Volatinia has a strong bond of mutual trust with Digitalis, a guardian whose Search brought her to this clan and Volatinia in particular. Excitable Sagarmatha is permitted far more latitude with the matriarch than any other clanmember, for reasons related to the tundra's arrival.

Her silent preoccupation makes her a bit less than approachable to many within the lair, but should her clan have need of her, she is quick to aid them, speak with them, and reassure them.
