Seiryu never intended to found an entire clan and doesn't believe in traditional structures of hierarchy, but somehow he's still become the dragon most others in the Starlit Hollow look up to for guidance, and whom all at least are willing to lend an ear to. In the Ruling Council of the clan he embodies the Azure Dragon of the East – healing, nurture and nourishment – despite not matching the sereotypical colouring. The scholars of the clan are quick to rally to his support should that be questioned however, more than willing to point out that in ancient texts "azure" was used to describe a variety of shades from blue to green. Seiryu himself is more likely than not to simply shrug off the criticism, believeing that titles are not something one has to change themselves to embody. One would be wise to not press too much however, as while Seiryu has a quiet and gentle demeanour, something strong enough lurks underneath for even the twisted dragons of the Void Court to treat him with a level of respect. The sole exception to Seiryu's gentle mannerisms is the clan's other progenitor, Voidling, whose very existence he refuses to acknowledge. The clan began from an impulsive affair between the two, but the female's neglect cost the lives of their first and only nest, and Seiryu has never been able to fully get over the loss. Still, he can't chase her away without undermining his own principles, and thus simply lets others deal with her instead. |
