Biography
Caracol is the Hoard Keeper. Deep in his underground labyrinth of shiny, metal tunnels, he keeps the clan's hoard. Everything has its place and order in the chaos.
Caracol is fine with living a solitary life, in fact he prefers it. Orphaned at a young age, he's been alone most of his life and prefers the echoes of his tunnels to any true conversation.
Caracol turned around and started to walk deeper into the tunnels. "...I will show you."
Walking the sloping tunnels, it became evident that the dragon you were following maybe had too much free time. Each room you passed had everything shelved precisely one inch from the wall and three inches from its neighboring object. You saw magical items in one room, food in the next, and fabric three halls down. The bright overhead lights illuminated the spotless and shining walls and several lifts that they went right past. After many lefts and rights that no one not familiar with the tunnels could remember and down many levels, Caracol finally turned off into one of the larger rooms. A cavern might be a better term.
Unlike all of the other rooms, this room only had a few shelves on the walls and everything was covered in a thick layer of dust. Colossal blocks of black stone sat in no discernible pattern across the floor. The guardian walked through the stone blocks towards the middle. As you follow, you notice that some have chunks taken out of them. Along the wall is a pile of broken stone.
"...T-This is my hobby..." Refocusing on Caracol, you see him standing awkwardly next to a half finished statue of a Pearlcatcher. If you didn't know any better, you'd say it was real.
Looking around further revealed many more statues similar to the one you were standing in front of. There were sleeping Faes, flying Spirals, warriors and healers, each one as realistic as the last.
You noticed that there were many sculptures of hatchlings playing together, families, and mates. How lonely it must be to desire something with your entire being and yet only be able to obtain it in your dreams...
Caracol continued to sort things on the shelves, rolling his cart as he moved through the room.
"No. Why would they do that? Just send a requisition down and I get it, put it on the lift, and send it back up."
He pushed a box back from the edge and set another beside it. "It's a simple process and if I'm lucky they stay to chat for a bit."
Caracol pressed the button that would return the lift to the surface and then turned to face the dragon that had come to visit. He didn't get many visitors, so he was glad for the visit and anxious at the same time.
"You have to- have to understand. It's not my hoard." He took a moment to gather his thoughts. "But I love the forgotten things. I am not the first Keeper and I will not be the last. Nothing is ever removed unless it is requested by the clan. There are ancient tomes on every topic you can imagine and things that I have no idea what their purpose is. You can learn a lot if you can manage to figure out the language."

I love this guy's colors, I'm not really a fan of contour but one way to always win me over is with nicely matching skink/spinner colors

Caracol, Has anybody tries to steal anything from the clans hoard before?

Hello there! what's your favorite thing to hoard?

Eventually, Caracol will see the need to find an apprentice to become his successor. He knows the importance but is still nervous and unsure how to find someone fit for the task. I think he might find an outcast like him and take them under his wing. Since he's so unused to having company, it might be awkward at first and they might be at odds with each other. Over time, they will grow to like each other, and Caracol will teach them everything he knows about the clan's hoard and how to manage it. Though both being outcasts, they might find it hard to connect even if they wanted to. Eventually, maybe even by accident, the apprentice stumbles upon Caracol's statues and is instantly fascinated with them. Caracol is flustered by the praise and urges the apprentice to go back to their studies, but they beg him to teach them how to make such beautiful statues too. He's delighted at the prospect of sharing his passion and the two enjoy having a like-minded companion for the first time in both their lives.

I love the lore of all of your dragons, but Caracol's has to be my favorite. He strikes me as a very compelling character, and the way you wrote his bio gave me a really clear image of his personality and lifestyle. I love that his hobby is sculpting, it's not at all something I expected but it ended up making a lot of sense.
