I am a part of the Archangel lineage! This family of dragons descends from Faith and Omen, an angel and a fallen angel who were cast out onto Sornieth and cursed to live as dragons for their crime of becoming romantically involved. This family tends to have few offspring-- the more greyscale they are, the less the curse seems to affect them! Click the wings to learn more!
Archangel lineage:
Faith & Omen >> Castiel >> Aciel! Aciel started life fully dragonized just like his mother and father- which would be a totally normal and unremarkable thing if all of his clutch-mates hadn't come out of the nest as partial and even full angels! His mother was thrilled of course, she always had a fondness for the deities and even decided to go and serve the Icewarden once her children were grown, and his father was just happy the full nest turned out healthy. While Aciel's father was never very forthcoming about his family's history (favoring to fully embraced his mostly normal life at the supplemental water treatment plant) with so many angelic hatchlings he did make sure to sit them down and warn them of the dangers that would very likely be coming their way as they grew and their powers developed more fully. Angels and fallen angels alike would be trying to track them down and force them into servitude against their wishes. All of this was punishment for the supposed sin of Catiel's own parents, Omen and Faith, falling in love. The more the hatchlings' angelic linage showed through their markings, the more at risk they would be. Seeing his brothers and sisters' powers develop so strongly so quickly made Aciel nervous for them. He was basically guaranteed safety with the colorful peacock wings he inherited from his mother. But he wanted to help his siblings. Become stronger for them to be able to defend them from a life of servitude they didn't ask for. When They came for his sister Drypiel and forced her into the Icewarden's service he made up his mind once and for all. She was only partially dragonized with python and morph markings like himself and their father. But she hadn't gotten the chance to train and wasn't able to defend herself. Aciel went to his father and begged to be trained like his siblings. He knew he was fully dragonized and his powers were too weak to be of much use as is but he was determined. Over time, his peacock markings from his dragon mother started to fade. Slowly, ever so slowly, runic markings like his father's began to appear as his mastery over his supernatural side grew. Once they were fully in he became an Archai or Spirit of Time. At this point he left his father and went off into the world to continue his training in the hopes of one day being strong enough to protect the rest of his family. Along the way he met a female Coatl named Ananiel and for the first time in his life, Aciel felt like he might be able to understand why his grandparents were willing to risk everything to be together. She was also studying the magical and physical arts to be able to fight back the darkness in Sorneith and they decided to walk their journey together. Overtime, as Aciel's training continued, more and more of his angelic lineage showed further changing his markings until he no longer looked like dragonized youth he once was. He became a Seraphim or Spirit of Love, the night he asked Ananiel to become his mate. |
