Marquis is the clan's singular librarian, which is unsurprising when you consider how much work it takes to make a library mobile.

One might assume that the common communication barriers between Marquis and other dragons would be the same as any other fae trying to communicate outside of it's species, but that isn't quite the issue here.

Marquis is completely mute, and speaks solely through sign language.

While his adoptive mothers, Duke and Dahlia, have learned how to understand it intimately, many dragons in the clan cannot wrap their heads around it in all its complexities, no matter how desperately they try.

Aside from that, Marquis is know to collect books and other-such literature obsessively, some clan members even speculate that a few of the books in his collection are cursed. This book hoarding later became a proper library, with encouragement from his adoptive parents.
