Remy

Remy is one of the main residents of Bristleback Burrow, but they are seldom treated like one. Originally a dragon captured within the Wasteland and created into a creature of questionable life by Kale for the sick pleasure of having a new experiment to toy with. Most of their life's memories, provided they had any to begin with, have been wiped clean. The only thing they know is that they were born sometime within the Scarred Wasteland.
Unlike any of Kale's creations, however, Remy managed to escape after blasting her with an, originally unintentional, unstable amount of magical energy, which disoriented the crazed Spiral just enough that they managed to make a break for the entrance to the den. Upon escaping, the Fae came face to face with the Lady herself. Instead of harming them, she decided, disturbingly nonchalantly, that they may choose a den, and live with the others. It was Madpine of all dragons first to offer a nest within her den, to which they warily accepted. From then, Remy has been rooming in the same den with the Bogsneak and has no plans on making their own.

Remy is targeted and bullied by other dragons within the lair due to his inherent weakness, but the Mirrors known as Rattles and Circe are the main aggressors. While nowhere near the level of vicious as Kale, the Mirrors will not go a day without harassing Remy, whether that be taunting, chasing, and even cornering them on some occasions. Other dragons like Vishnu and Arvak will occasionally pick on the Fae, but Arvak will usually intervene and break up any physical violence. The only dragons Remy has come to know as friends or allies are Madpine, Ataxia, their Sweetpuff familiar Mallow, and Bloodsong, though the latter of the three they very rarely visit, as it would require crossing paths with the entrance to Kale's den. Everyone else they are deathly afraid of, regardless of whether or not they have any personal experiences with them. They are content to only be friendly with the few that keep them safe, as they know they'll never get a taste of true freedom again. In the past, Remy has been suspected for having stronger feelings for Madpine, but immediately respected the Bogsneak's lack of preference and interest in that sort of thing, and now only sees her as a dear friend.

Fire. The muscles in Remy's wings felt as though they were on fire as they wildly flapped, making a break for the dens entrance. They had to get away, no matter to what limits they'd have to push their small, sickly body in order to achieve it. Their eyes frantically focused on the opening that simply led to more darkness as a deranged cackle echoed behind them. A sick, twisted, and furious sound, a maniacal laugh intimidating enough to bend the will of even the fearless of dragons. They didn't let it shock them into submission, nor did they the look of terror on the poor patchwork Coatl's face as the sound of beating wings began to replace the laughter,

"Where are YOU going?" Kale snarled between her laughing, quickly gaining on the much smaller Fae, "I'm not finished with you!"

For a split second, Remy's senses went completely numb as they threw themselves into the clearing, and for a brief second, wondered if they had passed right then and there. But their head soon cleared, as well as their vision, eyes widening at the scene playing out before them. Dragons from all angles surrounding the immediate area, some eyeing them with what Remy could assume is curiosity, while others stared ahead, jaws agape. Remy almost couldn't believe the sight before them.

A huge red Pearlcatcher stood before the crowd of dragons, her body draped by tattered clothing and bones of varying creatures. One stained claw held a deep red pearl, while the other held the head of the injured Kale, sputtering and breathing heavily. For a moment, nobody said a word. The tiniest pebble hitting the ground could echo great distances within the silence of that clearing. Remy found themselves jumping when the Pearlcatcher's gaze turned and locked with their own. The simple action of looking this dragon in the eyes struck fear into their heart more than Kale had ever before. Remy's senses were bright hot and burning, making the Fae feel like they were being destroyed from the inside out, before numbing at the sound of her voice.

"What a curious little thing you are..." The Pearlcatcher's voice rumbled, pupils narrowed to barely visible slits as she studied the Fae's form, "To escape the torment of a dragon such as this..."

As her sentence trailed off, her claws released Kale's head before giving the downed Spiral a swift shove back into her den. For just a split second, Remy felt a little bad for the Spiral before their fearful gaze returned to the dragon before them,

"This is usually the part where I would have a dragon like you... dealt with." she began, taking a threatening step towards Remy. Instead of claws digging into their scales, however, a bloodied claw reached out and tipped their head upwards,

"However, I'm choosing to reward your escape with life within the residency. I don't want to see you around too much, though. You were barely worth my energy to begin with."
