Vesper is a little rough around the edges, but once you get to know him, he has a lot of love to give. He just has trouble opening up to outsiders, at least until he's figured out their motive. By default, he automatically assumes that every dragon has some sort of ill intention towards him. But this wariness always served him well and kept him out of trouble along the low-lit streets of the Lanternlea Port. It's a hard trait to let go of, even if those years are behind him. Those who've gained his trust will find that he is intensely loyal and is known to feverishly defend those in his immediate circle. Growing up, Vesper never had much that he could call his own, except for the friends he made along the way. With good friends hard to come by and understanding just how important relationships are, his friends are invaluable companions to him. Even more so, that tidbit about not having anything of his own can, at times, make him green with envy, and he is not very good at hiding it, either. |
Friends & Family
| Vesper has been friends with Ilios for as long as he can remember, and if he was being honest with himself, he feels like he would've never lived past his younger years if they hadn't met. She often kept him out of trouble, steering him away from his more.. debased activities. He wanted to do good because of Ilios, something he never would've done for himself, and now he's become so much more with her by his side. |
| Vesper was immediately besotted by this roughneck ridgeback, who did everything in her power to make his life miserable when he first joined the clan. It was a silly, one-sided feud, but Vesper was extremely amused by Eirian's brute attitude, easily seeing some of himself in her. Plus, he really doesn't mind all that much if she can knock him to the moon and back. |

Vesper hails from the Lanternlea Port off of the easternmost sea, where it is always dark. He grew up poor and homeless- just another orphan from this bustling harbor.
Like many of the citizens, Vesper learned how to fish off of the docks to feed himself, and it eventually allowed him to make a living as well. If he caught enough fish for the day, he could sell his extra catch to the evening markets. He became quite a popular vendor thanks to his charming smile and alluring looks, his eyes glowing bright like a star in the night sky. The denizens could easily spot him out among other dragons.
But this wasn't a satisfying existence for Vesper. He had the ambition to do something more with himself but didn't have the opportunity to act on it, and he grew to loathe the Sunbeam Ruins, with its crumbling towers and desolate, broken cities. So when his good friend Ilios asked for him to come with her to Clan Abyss, he did.
He met Eirian, one of the clan's notorious Nightcallers, who immediately despised him because she was extremely sensitive to his glowing eyes. She always found reasons to pick a fight with him, and she did it enough times to show him how to really brawl, until he could actually take her on in a fight.
All the training that Eirian put him through helped him earn a place among the Abyssal Gladiators.
