She's Shadetouched, which really isn't that much of a problem. As long as she takes her medicine to avoid flareups, she doesn't get consumed by mindless rage and start eating people's souls. The problem's really less her Shade infection itself and more societal expectation. Being a Shadetouched Imperial in Light territory pretty much means she's a target for everyone around. She tried fleeing to the Hewn City, but immediately caught the attention of Mistake, who decided he wanted them to die together and form an Emperor. Seriously creeped out by the prospect, she ended up in the suburbs where she met Distorticon. He promised her that in his clan, she'd be left alone and didn't see her spots of Shade influence as that big of a deal. After all, they're basically just like his opal or Lazarro's gembond. She accepted this and joined the Ascendant Edge clan. It was there that she met Yadira, who eventually became her mate. They bonded over their mutual distaste for the Hewn Shade Cabal, and it turned out they also got along pretty well.
