A grave mistake...

The swirling, dark pool at the Forum's center has long been believed to be out of commission. Clogged with the Shadowbinder's findings and trinkets over the years, access to whatever magical concoction resides in the crescent shaped well is near impossible. Clotho, however, was a resolute dragon. Fascinated by the history of the Forum and too curious for his own good, the Nocturne made his home among the ruins with the sole intention of harnessing some of the pool's power. Many warned him that his curiosity might lead to his undoing, to not meddle with things better left forgotten, but Clotho was as determined as he was foolish.
It was a quiet and clear night. He approached the congested fount with but one intent: claim the power of the pool for himself. Prove all those who doubted wrong. Become something greater. Though navigating though the junk was difficult, Clotho managed to find a small section untouched by the Shadowbinder's spoils. He reached down an eager claw, and dipped into the liquid magic. The pool reacted immediately. Afraid, Clotho tried to draw back, but the magic would not release him. Instead, he was transformed. Clotho's wings became that of a bird's, with shimmering eyes along the arm that gaped endlessly. And his mind...his mind was changed, granting him the knowledge of days that hadn't yet come to pass. Clotho could see things. Terrible things. And he had to warn someone.
