Biography
Hermes was born, and was different. His parents, Nathalia and Aurelie, dedicated their lives to the arcane and the stars, their love for the cosmos beyond imprinted on their bodies. His two siblings, Zilla and Jacque, were similarly inclined, the veil of the starry sky glittering in their hide.
But Hermes was entangled with the earth. His mane a long, grassy green, his hide the color of a muddied beach, his horns growing forever with bright, new buds - he was of the earth and loved it. While his siblings spent their days and nights huddled in the observatory with their parents, Hermes wandered the land. He sought to learn everything he could about the things that grew on the green earth and how they could heal those who lived on it. On one of these long, lonely journies, Hermes met Thistle - his first friend and lifelong companion.
Hermes felt out of step in his home, disconnected from the arcane and his parents. Everywhere he journeyed, he met and helped dragons - it was easy enough to trade some of his healing knowledge for a place to stay or a bite to eat - but he could not find somewhere he fit. At each place, at each clan, he found dragons with things that bound them together - and there was never a spot for him.
It wasn't until he was doing some healing work at the Lotus Nursery, in exchange for dinner and a place to stay, that he met Daisysmasher. The little fae - his size enough to fool a dragon into thinking he was some common amber-weaver, not a leader - began to chat with Hermes. Hermes was surprised how easy it was to talk to the little Fae, and how much they agreed on. Daisysmasher was trying to break down the ties that bound dragons to one fate or destiny - break away from the god-paths and natures that were supposed to be bound into their beings. Hermes quite liked the sound of that.
After a short consideration, and a quick once-over with Thistle, Hermes asked to accompany Daisysmasher back to his clan. He was delighted to find the perfect spot for him on the adventuring team of the party, fighting alongside Smasher and Cassiopia, winning more for the hoard. And, eventually, he caught the eye of another veilspun...the startling Starrynight.
