- - - ▢ The Beginning
Penelope was hatched in the home of her ancestors, and to this day, she is proud of that.
As a hatchling, she was quiet and well-mannered, possessing an almost royal aura. As she aged, she gained acquaintances from many other realms and species, some of whom she became quite fond of. It was never her ambition to start a clan of her own, but as she arrived in her current icy home, she fell in love with the feeling of the very first snowflake to gently land on her nose. She soon found herself rolling in the piles of snow, washing both her body of dirt and also her mind of the ideas she had previously had. As an Imperial, she used to prefer quiet and few by her side.
At the time when she happily flailed in the snowdrifts like a hatchling again, she realized this place of ice had melted her heart. Slowly, she began to amass those that she had met on her travels, inviting them to join her in creating a new clan. This is what she now calls 'Home'.

- - - - ▢ Penelope's Personality
Today, despite having a 'queenly' start, Penelope, though she has taken the title of 'Matriarch', does not view herself above others. Her status in the clan is simply there for the sake of order. Penelope is very approachable within the clan, and though most have no reason to directly speak with her, she doesn't shy away from any of her clan members. While she has struggled with a few members (mainly Pearlcatchers), she acknowledges their strengths and assets to the clan over any personal, trivial matters. She is fond of visiting the hatchery, which she gets shooed from by the Skydancers, and she loves talking to other about each dragon's ambitions and where that may take them. On the occasion that a member departs either to serve the Icewarden or to find their own place in life, she supports each of the on their journeys, never allowing them to leave without a heart-to-heart conversation so that they know that they are appreciated, and that if a return is ever desired, they will be welcomed home without hesitation. Watching them leave is one of the only things that truly saddens her.

- - - - ▢ A Summary of Relationships
Though she lived without a true mate for a long time, she came to find Geulimja, a male Nocturne. Some in the clan find their relationship odd, as she is from Light and he from Shadow,
but though they may seem like night and day, they truly love one another and she trusts him with the lives of her clan members. Before Geulimja entered the clan and her life, she had another Nocturne by her side, a female by the name of Vellum. Vellum is still a very important member of the clan, being one of Penelope's closest friends and a strong second-in-command when action needs to be taken. Alongside Vellum, Hollis is another good friend of Penelope's and often the means through which the Imperial sneaks into the hatchery. Hollis has always been the one Penelope turns to when she is feeling down or overwhelmed, and though often silent or few of words, Hollis is a great listener and highly supportive of Penelope. Binghami is a huge pain in the neck to the Matriarch, but she's also incredibly fond of him. He often organizes large swaths of the hoard and is found curled up amongst the still warm bodies meant for those who eat meat. He may be small, but Penelope loves his enthusiasm and can't help but be charmed by the first dragon she stumbled across in the frozen tundra. He fondly braids her mane while she rests,
from time to time, sometimes accidentally weaving his own tail into the hairs. He appreciates her for keeping him warm when she found him in a light blizzard, and he does what he can to help her.
