Lucilius was born and raised in the Starfall Isles - after being immediately exalted, he was taken in by a Fae astronomer/researcher. He lived primarily in the Astrodome until his mentor and surrogate father fell ill; Lucilius sought to create a cure, but failed to save the Fae.

While creating the cure, Lucilius became sick, and was forced to use it on himself instead of his father. He contracted a similar disease as his wife, Berserker, hence the crystallized splotches on his wings and legs. He knew exactly how to treat her when he met her due to his own experience with the illness. He still tries to perfect the vaccine exactly, so that no physical marring remains, but as it stands it's not his highest priority. He also wants to learn how to cure shade-touched dragons.

Lucilius is generally quiet and reserved, and has a voracity for knowledge that is thus unmatched by any of his peers. He prefers to keep to himself and doesn't like social interaction, often considering it more toruble than it's worth; that being said, he greatly enjoys his wife's company.

He was given his familiar - a cauldron with a face - at birth. It's been with him his whole life and they've made many beautiful (and sometimes dangerous) concoctions together. In his mind, a familiar and a dragon are bonded for life.
