Biography
Lore I will pretty up later:
A name known only by the devoted. A story told only in secret. A life that only breeds misery.
Unfortunately, hers will never end.
The curse of the God-King originated within the Sorceress, though it was not meant for her. Because of this, her body allowed it to germinate and bear fruit, resulting in a complete immortality.
Seconds after what would come to be known amongst her few followers as the Ascension, the castle guards would flood the room, and lead the Sorceress to the tower that would become her living tomb. Unknown to the Sorceress, the God-King had always planned for imprisonment to be part of her fate.
Though his plan did not account for his failure.
Because of the curse, the Sorceress could not be allowed to live. Two cannot rule at once, and thus, there cannot be two gods- the very nature of her existence would call the theocracy into doubt.
Yet, due to her completed state, the God-King could not act. Death, of course, was out of the question, and banishment was as well- an infinite lifespan means infinite time for preparation and retaliation.
And thus, she remained in that tower.
At first, the God-King visited regularly. Daily, he attempted to recreate what had happened, to try to become whole to prevent being found out. Despite his paranoia, within a few decades, he had realized that there was no need. The people's devotion to their king had become worship to their god, and as such, dissent had become blasphemy. A knight, born after the Sorceress had been forgotten by history, was assigned to keep watch outside the decrepit tower, and told to feed a prisoner of no renown.
Eventually that knight's voice grew older, and a different, younger voice replaced it.
That was the only method of telling time provided to the Sorceress; the walls inside her tower had run out of places to scratch tallies years ago. Yet, despite decades of imprisonment, the ever patient Sorceress was hopeful, and bided her time in peace. Immortality meant that she knew, inevitably, her freedom would come, whether it was when the stones of her tower eroded into rubble, or for a day to come when the God-King missteps, for what was meant to be a curse to bring his ruin.
Before she knew it, a chance had been presented for her. One that she actively wanted to accept.

While God-King had sealed away any magic that could aid in an escape, that did not mean she was powerless. Like a weed, seeds of her influence spread and sprouted amongst those dissenters turned blasphemers, and passed down to their children.
The cause of the crystal rot plaguing the God-King's empire.
