Biography

Welcome home! Where do you want to go?
The Store | The Hub (under construction) | Stay Home

Staying at home for a while? Sure, you’ve been working hard, trying to help the others with their research. Want to look at some of your notes?

You open your logbook. Let’s check out the things you write for yourself, not for others.

Entry #1

Met an awfully nice Tundra today, her name is Maya. She’s been through an entire journey to get here, and has written it all down so she won’t forget it. Quite remarkable! She would like to accompany me on my travels through the Tangled Wood. Why not, right? It should be interesting to have a companion, especially one as strong as Maya. I’m not that good at defending myself, so in the worst case scenario I have a bodyguard. Best case scenario, I made a new friend!

Entry #2

Maya and I entered the Driftwood Drag some time ago, and we’ve been finding these weird flyers all over the ground. Something about a city? The map doesn’t show anything... Very strange indeed. We discussed checking the place out anyway, it could be quite fun!

Entry #3

We reached the supposed city, but there doesn’t seem to be anything there. Well, no city at least. Instead, we found four dragons who had set up camp. The eldest of the bunch, a Banescale calling herself Merlot, explained what they were doing. Apparently Cermestro, the city mentioned on the flyers, does exist somewhere around here, but not in this plane of existence. Merlot showed us the research that the four of them have been doing, and there is evidence of something being there. What a mystery! Maya and I decided to stay around and help the group with their research. Who knows, it might give me the inspiration I need so badly…

Entry #4

In the dead of night, the little Fae called Yorkomoon woke me up. She showed me a portal, dimly glowing in the moonlight. We cautiously approached it, and on the other side of the city we could see a bustling city! The dragons on the other side of the portal didn’t seem to notice the disturbance at all, except for a small Banescale hatchling. It stared at us with black eyes. And then the portal closed again. We should really get Merlot to look at this soon!

Entry #5

The team has been observing the nightly portals for a while now. So far, we’ve deducted that only a select few citizen dragons seem to notice them. Interestingly, most of those seem to be hatchlings. They don’t act on them though, except for that little Banescale that Yorkomoon and I saw on the first night. We are planning to monitor the disturbance for a while longer, while Merlot is going to fly to the Starfall Isles and bring back some more advanced equipment.

Entry #6

The mystery is growing! Last night, we saw a dragon entering the portal! Yorkomoon and Froggit have been bickering all day over if the dragon came here on their own free will or not. Maya, Panthera and I aren’t sure about either of the options. We are still waiting for Merlot to return. Maybe her new equipment will help us better understand this phenomenon.

Entry #7

Merlot has returned! Carrying a boatload of new equipment. We all helped setting it up, and oh my… The results are unlike anything we could ever hope for! Multiple readings done with multiple pieces of equipment seem to indicate that there is a time vacuum of some sorts! Very curious indeed. Cermestro seems to only exist within that vacuum. Another apparatus that Merlot has brought indicates that some kind of crisis must have happened for it to become like this, and that Cermestro probably has existed outside of this vacuum once, a long time ago. We have no idea what is happening, but Merlot is working on some kind of communication set up to see if we can talk to a citizen on the other side.

Entry #8

Last night, the portal opened again. Merlot had her newly finished communication device at the ready and tried to talk at the first hatchling that noticed us. The small Imperial introduced herself as Illumina, and told us that grown-ups can’t see the time magic. It was, apparently, something the hatchlings in the city all agreed on. She has no idea why the city is stuck like this, but told us to ask ‘one of the flickering ladies’ for help. Merlot tried to ask more, but by then the portal fizzled out. We are trying again tomorrow.

Entry #9

Tonight, a small Imperial child named Marbles talked to us. She too has no idea what is wrong with the city, but she gleefully told us more about these ‘flickering ladies’. She told us that she would pass on the message that we wanted to talk to them and that these ladies would be able to see us. So, we thanked her for her help and are now eagerly awaiting the next night.

Entry #10

Flickering ladies… I now understand where the term comes from. A reserved… Tundra, possibly, talked to us tonight. She didn’t mention her name, and her form wasn’t solidified like everybody else’s. Like she was jumping from one form to the other. She told us that a long time ago, scientists in the city were experimenting with Shade magic and artifacts said to originate from the Eleven. The experiments went haywire, quite catastrophically might I add, and the entirety of the city was set to perish. In an attempt to save the citizens, the scientists accidentally locked the entire city into this stable time loop, within a vacuum. It’s all very complicated and I am not good with all the science mumbo jumbo, but even Merlot seemed puzzled by it. I wonder what we’re going to do now…

Entry #11

Together with the Tundra, we have devised a plan. We are planning on making the portal to Cermestro a permanent one, that way we can keep communications open and hopefully find a solution, so the city can be brought back to Sornieth! It’s a rescue mission now!

Entry #12

Well, our rescue mission has hit a bit of a bump in the road. Merlot has tinkered away, the portal is staying open, and we can communicate to hatchlings and the mystery Tundra just fine… But we need to be able to talk with everybody to truly figure out what has been happening. Merlot has been working on a device which would make one of us able to communicate with the rest of the team after entering the portal… So I’m going in. I am physically the weakest, and scientifically too, but I am the best at communication. So I’m entering Cermestro tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Entry #13

This city is marvelous, there’s so much to explore, so many dragons to meet! So many stories to chronicle…

This will be my magnum opus.
